As the school year winds down, so do your meal swipes or points for food. At college campuses across the nation, students are having to get creative for meals that can be made with just a few amenities. To help you find meals you can make out of the few things you have around, here are a twenty-five quick and easy dorm room meal ideas:

1. Mug Omelettes

These are an awesome breakfast option for when you have a little bit more time and ingredients. All you need are some eggs and any other fixings such as ham, salt, pepper, onion, etc. and a coffee cup!

2. Oatmeal

Oatmeal makes a great easy breakfast for those mornings that you do not have enough time to stop and get food.

3. Mac and Cheese

This college student stable is always a good option.

4. Popcorn

Just make sure not to burn it!

5. Fruits and Vegetables

(as much as you don't want to spend the money on it, you'll really appreciate having something easy and tasty to grab)

6. Microwavable Rice

It is even easier if you get the 90-second Ready Rice which can be heated in the microwave. This is another item that you can add other ingredients to in order to make a larger or smaller meal, depending on what you want.

7. Frozen or Canned Veggies

If you get canned veggies, just make sure to get one with a pop top unless you have a can opener laying around.

8. Nachos

Nachos are definitely a favorite. All you need are some chips and cheese on a plate and you can either toast it or throw it into the microwave. Also, you can make a bunch of different varieties by adding more on top!

9. DIY Pita Pizza

These pizzas are perfect for a fun night with your friends or a late night spent studying. All you need is a piece of pita bread, any other sort of bread you have laying around, and whatever ingredient you want to add on. Just throw it in the microwave for about two minutes and you have a delicious pizza with all the toppings you love.

10. Soup

This can include chili, tomato soup, chicken noodle soup, etc. which can all be made by zapping it real quick in a microwave.

11. Pasta (and sauce)

You don't need a stove to boil water. Get the water hot (as in boiling) in a microwave-safe bowl. Add pasta. Put back into the microwave until the pasta is as done as you'd like. Add pasta sauce (which can also be microwaved, although the heat from the pasta usually works just fine) and you're done.

12. Steamed Sweet Potatoes

If you love sweet potatoes like me, this is a great option. All you have to do is stab a couple holes into the sweet potato, wrap it in a paper towel and place it into the microwave for about five minutes. The great thing about this recipe is that it only requires one ingredient but is super filling!

13. Grilled Cheese/ Sandwich

You can make so many different variations of sandwiches or grilled cheeses, your options are infinite. Also, on cold days eating a grilled cheese with soup is always satisfying.

14. Granola Parfait

Even better if you use yogurt that comes with fruit already in it!

15. Smoothies

I know not everyone can have a blender in their dorm room, but if you can this is a great option to take on the go!

16. Apples and Peanut butter

Just be careful that no one is allergic before you pull out this snack!

17. Leftovers

You can always enjoy eating leftovers from the last time you went off campus for dinner with friends! My friends and I typically order larger meals when we go out with the mindset of taking it home for another meal later.

18. Cheese and Crackers

A good afternoon snack for days when you don't want to walk all the way to the dining hall.

19. Rice and Beans

This meal is packed with protein and fiber, perfect for a stressed out college student running on fumes.

20. Ramen Noodles

If all else fails, Ramen will always be there for you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
