If Your Dreams Don't Scare You, They Aren't Big Enough

Why is it that we limit ourselves? We let ourselves be put in a box. Within this box are all the things we think we can do. Within this box are the realistic achievements that we can strive for, but nothing more than that. Within this box, we are trapped. Outside of this box are all the things we believe are out of reach. They aren't actually out of reach, we just believe they are.

This box is fear. This box is what keeps you from taking that leap of faith into the unknown. We don't let ourselves dream and work to achieve that dream because we need to be "realistic." Being realistic is boring, safe and not fulfilling. We are so afraid to fall short of what we want that we don't even attempt to go for it.

This time we have on Earth is temporary and while our time in heaven is eternal, there is no point in spending your life here wasting your potential. God created you to do incredible things and it's time you started using the gifts He gave you to go out and make a difference.

Chase your dreams! According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, a dream is a strongly desired goal or purpose and it's something that fully satisfies a wish. Notice that there is no place in that definition that says unrealistic, impractical, not reachable, or silly. Your dreams are achievable and all you have to do is work for them.

Your dreams are achievable and you have the power to go for what you want. There's a saying and it's totally cliche and while I'm not a big fan of cliches, this one has a lot of merit to it. The saying is, "Reach for the moon! Even if you miss you'll land among the stars." The way I interpret this saying is that you need to dream your biggest dream, even if you think it's impossible, and go for it. Even if you don't reach the finish line for your dream (moon), along the way you will have accomplished so many great things on your rise to the top that you will have so many things to be proud of (stars).

Now, there are people in life that will discount your dreams. They will say they're silly, impossible, unrealistic, stupid, etc. The list goes on and I've heard a few of those myself. What my dream is and what I choose to do with my life is my own business. I want to do what makes me happy and others have no place to discount my dream. Get rid of the toxic people in your life that don't support you and work towards what you want to achieve in life. Surround yourself with people who support you and love you and you will see yourself rise to the top even faster than you realize.

So stop limiting yourself. Stop telling yourself that you aren't good enough and start working to accomplish your dream, whatever that may be. We are not here long enough to stall and put it off. You do what makes you happy and I promise you, happiness will follow. Stop letting fear hold you back. Dream the biggest dream you can and go for it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
