Growing up is fun, but it's never easy. There are certain difficulties you encounter, here they are.
1. Doing your own laundry
From always having, well most of the time, Mom to back you up with late night loads for work or your desired outfit you planned to wear the next day, it's time to do it yourself.
2. Making your own food
"Mom I'm hungry!", soon becomes a echo in your place. Thankfully we have carry out and Dominos Pizza to always save the day!
3. Saving and using your OWN money
Either from Grandma, Mom or Dad slipping you a $5 bill here and there is soon and will be a closed account. You can never have enough money, specially when it comes to the new and improved college lifestyle.
4. Paying your own cell phone bill
From totally FREE to 50%, the free connection line is cut off. When in doubt there's always an app for your last minute texts messages and always FaceTime! Good thing a Caribou or Starbucks next to you has FREE wifi.
5. Moving out on your own
Ready or not you're moving out! Excited or nervous it's a new beginning in your life that you should find celebration within.
6. Making it to class...
Without Mom and Dad to tell you to hit the hay so you're rested for school tomorrow is an everyday line gone from their vocabulary. That's why it's up to you!
7. Deciding whether to save for spring break or feed yourself.
Not only does your money go to Spring Break or food, however it is always fun to have a getaway weekend or adventures to go on with trips. Except for the ugly fact that it all costs money!
8. Having to share a room with a roommate.
For some you probably had a room all to yourself. Whether it's an ugly awakening or not you now have a roommate. Like all humans, roommates have feelings to, so be kind :)
9. Staying up late for no reason...
Laptop, check.
Cell phone, check.
All nighters are easily spent not with a friend or two but more with your partner in crime... the internet and all the wonders about it. Make sure you get at least some sleep!
10. Home cooked meals by mom.
Last but not least, the cafeteria food will NEVER taste like your mother's home cooked meals. Be thankful for that lasagna that may look nasty at times.
