We live in a world that has clichés for almost every situation: "Just keep swimming," "great things take time," "live and let live," etc. When something bad happens someone tells us, "everything happens for a reason." We're impatient about something and someone says, "patience is a virtue." We have a bad day and someone says, "don't sweat the small stuff," or "move on". "Tomorrow is a new day."
As we know, bad days are a part of life, whether we like it or not. Lucky for us, there are ways to make those bad days not-so-terribly bad.
Cry It Out.
Believe it or not, the old-fashioned "sneak off to the bathroom and cry" can do some serious wonders for your bad day. Crying not only physically lets the bad out, but it releases the bad from your eyes, ridding you of its displeasure.
Sweat It Out.
Endorphins are a beautiful thing. In fact, they say that those who hit the gym or the pavement while they're mad or upset, sweat more and achieve better results.
Punch It Out.
Punching another person may not be the best thing to do, seeing as how the retaliation and/or punishment for doing so could make your day worse. Punching a pillow, however, or the air, or a punching bag, could achieve the same rush and release without the consequences. Also, try not to punch a wall or something hard, seeing as it could physically damage you.
Scream It Out.
Screaming allows you to get rid of, at least for a moment, all of the frustration you are feeling. Like punching, you can scream into a pillow because it won't scream back. Note that screaming at another person probably won't help anything because he or she may scream back, making you feel worse than you originally did. Screaming in your car on your lunch break is acceptable.
Party It Out.
There's nothing like a happy drink, some cute clothes, and your favorite people to snap you out of a bad day.
Laugh It Out.
Laughing is one of the best feelings ever. Not just giddy little girl laughing, but the laugh that pulls at your stomach and makes your eyes water. This laughing makes everything else go away, and reminds you that even in the midst of a bad day, you can smile and laugh until you can hardly breathe.
Eat It Out.
Food is so good. There's a reason why there's such a thing known as comfort food.
Watch It Out.
Binge watch anything. Become so immersed in a show or shows, that you forget why you're having a bad day in the first place.
Hang It Out.
Friends can be the best medicine to get you out of this slump you're in. They'll remind you of how rad you are, and listen to you rant about your bad day.
