Now that we're roughly half-way through summer (bawling), here's a list of things that can help jump start the rest of your summer activities!

1. Go through all your clothes and embrace minimalism down to what you only wear.

Take all the extra clothes and donate them. Two birds, one stone!

2. Call up a few friends and have a potluck picnic!

You'll get to enjoy the weather, your friends and food! What could be better than that?

3. Hop in your car (alone, or with others) and DRIVE!

Get lost, find cool places, take detours, be free, have fun!

4. Host a game night.

Just ask everyone to bring either a game or a snack, and let the fun begin!

5. Have a date night.

By yourself, with your S.O., or a group of people. Dress up, go to a fancy dinner (or cook) and go to the movies!

6. Grab some friends and play Pokemon Go somewhere new.

Just because you're learning to adult doesn't mean you can't play PG.

7. Plan a trip!

You don't even have to plan with a date in mind. But if the opportunity comes for you to have a free unexpected week off and you have nothing planned, think again!

8. Have a throwback game night.

For my friend group, this includes Super Smash Bros., which means the day will turn into an all-too serious tournament (while I run around annoying them with my Peach hip bump moves).

9. Host a themed dinner party.

Some that I've been to include movie nights (like having Greek food and watching "My Big Fat Greek Wedding") and others include things like fondue nights if you have a set (more like FUNdue to me. No? Worth a shot…).

10. Go camping.

S’mores! Need I say more? ;)

11. Go to a club and dancing the night out.

There are lots of different types of clubs like country line clubs/bars, salsa and techno. Talk about some great cardio.

12. Look online at local bowling alleys and skating rinks.

See if they have any special nights that may be catered to lower prices or specific music genres.

13. Float trip!

Get your tan on with your pals while hanging out in the water.

14. Water fight day.

Stock up on water balloons, water guns and sprinklers, and surprise some of your friends with a good day!

15. Two words: Movie. Marathon.

Pick one of your favorite series and go at it! "Harry Potter," "LOTR," "Bring It On," "Rugrats," Disney, "Twilight," "X-Men," "Avengers," "Hunger Games." Grab your snacks and no matter what, don't leave the couch.

16. Hit up some water.

Lake, beach, river, pool. Don't forget your sunscreen!

17. Throw a BBQ.

18. Take a hike (literally).

Check out your state's conservation website for some cool places to hike around your area.

19. Do some kind of activist work.

Find something you're passionate about representing and give it your all!

20. Volunteer.

Serve your community.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
