On June 16, 2015, Donald Trump decided to run for president. At first, I thought it was a sick joke, and he had no chance of winning. But now, he is leading a majority of Republican polls and does not know a single thing about running a country. What makes him think he will be a good President?
Trump wants to build a wall along the Mexican-American border. Reassuring voters that the U.S. will not pay for the wall, he wants to make the Mexican government pay for it. Yes, the Mexican government is going to be fine with building a wall to keep the people inside. Mexico could be considered a third world country, they wouldn't be able to afford to build a 1,933-mile long wall. I do not believe he understands that most Mexicans come searching for a better life. Trump assumes that the select few that are involved with Mexican Drug cartels.
Donald Trump is completely against allowing Syrian refugees into America. He argues that these refugees are members of terrorist organizations looking to attack America. "This could be one of the great Trojan horses," says Trump. He believes that ISIS and other organizations are going to send insurgents into our country to play a major attack He says that they are only sending men, but, in reality, more women and children are being sent.
Not all people in the middle east are Muslim, and not all Muslims are terrorist. The recent terrorist attacks that have occurred around the world are terrible but should not be pinned on a single group. For those who know anything about Islam, they would know that Islam is truly peaceful religion. The members of ISIS claim to be Muslim, but their actions they take are not supported by the Muslim world. Trump has had the opportunity to correct his supporters and their views on Muslims. He was at a rally where an advocate at his rally was saying that America has one problem, and that problem is Muslims. Trump did not correct him but instead told him they were looking into that.
The last reason that he should not be president is that he is very rash and does not think before he speaks. The president of this country needs to have a filter when speaking in public. In a recent rally, Trump was seen mocking New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski. Kovaleski suffers from arthrogryposis, a chronic condition that limits movement. At the rally Trump mocks how Kowalski speaks and how his hands are curved and disfigured.
Donald Trump is currently a front runner, and it is truly scary, he does not know how to run a country. He can run a multimillion dollar company, but the United States is not a company!
