10 Reasons Why Dogs Are The Best
Molly Cohen

I am sure you have seen many articles on Odyssey about why people love dogs, why you should have a dog, etc. In all honesty though, dogs really are one of the best creatures on this planet. If you do not own a dog I recommend one. Sure, some dogs may misbehave and need to be trained but truly they are worth it. I have four dogs and it does get a bit hectic but they are the best things in my life. I am so grateful for my dogs and would not trade them for the world. Here are 10 reasons why dogs are the best:

1.) They have unconditional love for you

Dogs do not care how old you are, what size you are, what your doing with your life, etc. They love you no matter what and are always there for you.

2.) Dogs are truly your best friend or even best family member

They will follow you around to make sure they give you all the love they want you to have and sit with you on the couch when you need a buddy. Their is nothing better than hanging out with your dog.

3.) They help improve your mood

The jumping on you and licking your face will for sure put you in a better mood. If you come home from a bad day at work or just had a fight with a friend, they are always there to cheer you up.

4.) They decrease stress

It is actually scientifically proven that dogs help to decrease stress. They are fun, loving and like I said always there when you need them.

5.) They are just so darn cute!

I have never seen an ugly dog. Even if a dog is not the "best looking" dog in the world, their always seems to be a cuteness about all dogs. What is scary to me is that many humans find dogs cuter than babies at times!

6.) They are great workout buddies

I love taking my dogs for walks and they love it too. Not only do you have a reliable work out buddy but you can have someone to run with on a beautiful day.

7.) They are also great nap buddies

I mean who doesn't love snuggling with their favorite pooch? I rather wake up to my dog next to me than some jerk...

8.) They can actually be great food buddies too

Yeah dogs like to eat everything but I do not mind sharing my meatloaf and leftovers with my pooches. They make the dinner interesting.

9.) They are your alarm system (which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it)

Dogs bark at A LOT of things so sometimes their barking can be inconvenient when your trying to nap during the day or watch an episode of The Walking Dead. However my dogs are great watchers and bark when they sense anything unusual to them. They have saved me from some pretty bad situations and people so to me, their barking is worth to tolerate.

10.) Having a dog in life is just awesome

The nine reasons before this just put together how awesome dogs are. They keep you safe, their cute, their lovable, dependable - what more can you ask for?

So dogs are the best. Again if you do not own one, I suggest looking into it. They really are life changing and make your life so much better. To my dogs Andre (Nickname: Dr. Dre), Rocky (or Rocko), Cream, and Tasha, thanks for being the best dogs ever!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
