With cuffing season still in full swing, a lot of people feel left out if they haven't found their perfect mate. What these same people don't realize is that they are looking in the wrong place. All you have to do is get in your car and make that drive to the nearest Humane Society and you can get something much, much better than a boyfriend.
1. They don't argue back. If your dog does something wrong, they will not be able to defend themselves when you verbally reprimand them. You can say whatever you want and they can't make excuses for their behavior or make up lies.
2. They give the best kisses. No more having to dread the awkward first kiss or wonder who is going to make the first move. Dogs never fail to shower you with kisses. Although these kisses are stinky, they never go unappreciated. As long as they steer clear of the mouth area, all is good.
3. They're loyal. No matter how many times you accidentally step on them or put them in the crate for chewing up your favorite pair of shoes, your dog will never stop being loyal to you. Every time you come home you can expect to have them waiting for you at the front door with a happy tail and lots of love. You don't have to worry about what girl they're texting or making shady plans with.
4. They need you. Literally. Without you they will die. You have to feed them, bathe them, give them water, attention, and love. For all of you needy girls out there who love to feel appreciated, dogs are definitely what you're looking for.
5. They understand you. Maybe they don't understand all of the words that you are saying but dogs have an uncanny way of being able to sense what mood you are in. They will lick tears off of your face or just be there to hold when they know that you are having a rough time. No more getting pissed because your boyfriend can't guess what's wrong with you without you having to vocalize it.
6. They won't judge you. You can sing as loud as you want. Dance around your room in your underwear. Talk to yourself. Fart. Burp. Stuff your face. Your dog will always be right there.
7. They tolerate you. Boyfriends get sick and tired of your antics. Dogs never do. Everything that you do or say is interesting to them. No complaints even when you dress them up in ridiculous costumes.
8. They will do anything you tell them to (as long as there is a treat involved). When is the last time you were able to tell your boyfriend to "sit?" As long as you train them well, dogs are so much more obedient than boys.
9. They are the best cuddlers. Netflix and chill actually involves watching Netflix when you're with your dog.
10. They can cheer you up no matter what. Whether it's doing something goofy like running into a wall or just being cute af, your dog will always leave a permanent smile on your face.
11. They are always around when you need them. I mean, they can't really go anywhere unless you take them.
12. They make your heart warm. You literally can sit in class all day and scroll through your pictures of your dog and get all warm and tingly inside. Boys just don't do that for me.
13. They take the best selfies with you. Although sometimes it's a fight, selfies with dogs are always guaranteed to score you the most likes on Instagram.
14. They are just so damn cute. Enough said.
15. Their love is unconditional. Dogs are unlike boys in that their love is never-ending. You don't have to worry about waking up one day to a text that says "I can't do this anymore." Mainly because dogs can't text but also because, in the words of Whitney Houston, they will always love you.
