“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring -- it was peace.” ― Milan Kundera
1. They love you unconditionally.

Our dogs don’t love us just because we give them treats, feed them, or share our bed with them. If they did, things like taking them to the vet or giving them a bath would change their behavior. Despite these things, they still love us. Even on your worst days, your pup will still greet you with a wagging tail and lots of kisses. Nothing you do can change the way they feel about you.
2. They can't talk.
Sometimes when you get home from a long day at work and/or school, it’s nice to just relax in silence for a while and who better to do that with than your dog. There’s no chance that they’ll break the silence and tell you about their day or ask you a question. Spending some time with them will help restore your patience (definitely) and get you ready to interact with other humans (maybe). They're the perfect companion.
3. They're excellent listeners.
Sometimes we just need someone to listen to all of the stuff going on in our lives. Whether you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to vent to, your dog will always be there. Sure, they probably have no idea what you’re saying, but you're still able to get all of your feelings out there without being asked tons of questions or given unwanted advice.
4. They don't judge you.
Feel like taking a four hour nap? That’s totally okay with them because napping is one of their favorite things to do. As long as you give them 80 percent of your bed or couch (or whatever you nap on), they’ll be happy. Your dog won’t care if you eat the last slice of pizza, spend too much money on donuts, sleep until noon, or binge watch Netflix. Most likely, they'll be by your side doing all of those things.
5. You're their world.
You are the treat-giving, belly-rubbing center of their universe. No one can ever take your place. When you leave them, they miss you so much that they act like they haven’t seen you in years when you get back. You’ll probably never have a person be that happy to see you, nor will you ever be that happy to see any person.
