In the 21st century it is easy to turn to social media, watch T.V. and be dormant from people but at humans we need lots of social interactions. We also need a lot of support and family is a major contribution to that for many Americans. Think about it, have you ever texted or called someone when you were in the same room? Missing out on the face to face interaction is causing much of the social anxiety in America today. When was the last time that your family went to the beach together, played a board game, or sat together at the dinner table? These things are so simple yet the common family in America lacks to make the time to do this. While we all have lives sitting together as a family watching T.V. involves no effort. There is no bonding and conversation going on.

Here is my understanding of a family. Your parents love you unconditionally and teach you their values and legacies in hope that when you grow up and have little minions you carry some of those on. Spending time with your family is a good way to hear stories and laugh about the one that weren't so funny when they happened. Family is the single more important thing to you. Since you were born your family was there for you and helped create this life of yours.
I think about how lucky I am to have had the childhood and parents that I have had and know that I shouldn't take that for granted. As I grow older I realize that my time to move out is getting closer and where I live next is undetermined but I hope it's close to my family. Support is the second word I think of after the word family is said. No matter what I've done in my life my family has been there to support me and guide me along and I can't thank them enough for it. Friends are great but they can change. Family is something that is unchangeable. Spending time with my family is enjoyable and also shows that I like being in their company. As we approach the middle of summer and start heading into fall, the holidays are going to start flying by and I can only hope that you'll be with your family for them.
