Thank you to the blank pages that my thoughts take over. Thank you to the words inside my head that pour out as I’m typing on my laptop. Thank you to the writing that has inspired me and made me want to write more. Thank you for the only way I truly know how to let out my feelings.

I write because it’s the only way I know how to get everything out. When I speak it’s not all there, but when I write, I flow. I pour words out on paper about my day, the random idea I had in class that I made sure to doodle on my notes, or the paper due at 12 a.m. that night.

It’s a flow and I truly feel my happiest when the words come out easy and the rhythm is there. Writing is mine. I may not share it all and I still may not be proud of everything I’ve written, but I know when I write that is all me. I’m not trying to hide myself or my insecurities from anyone. It’s me and the blank page where I spill out word after word, thought after thought, getting every emotion and feeling onto the page. It’s my time. It’s my words. It’s my page.

It may be music, painting, or photography for you. Where it’s just you and your art. It’s a time to celebrate and embrace whatever hardships or memorable moments that inspired you to take that shot, paint that scene, or write that piece. Art is this beautiful thing where one moment you can be sitting in class and a brilliantly awesome idea pops into your head so you jot it down because that’s the only way you will remember it. Your notebooks, phone, and hand becomes filled with ideas. The moments of inspiration. The flashes of inspired thought.

I’m so thankful for this creative part of my mind because every day it is something new. It’s a time where creativity takes over. I never know when it will happen, but it does. It always does. Sure, we may have times where we get writer’s block or are just have a lack of motivation to do anything. But it’s that flash, the idea, that always strikes in the most unexpected ways. So I go with it when I get it and I fill the page.

The mind and art are incredible things that we need to embrace. We all have a voice. We all want to be heard. So share. Share what you love because that’s the best part of you. It’s your light, your passion, your voice that needs to be heard. So please share what you love to a world that desperately needs more love.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
