"The Office" is a quirky comedic tv series with such a large following that it had a successful run of nine seasons. Today it continues to be the favorite show among many Netflix enthusiasts and nostalgiac groupies alike. While the bizarre dry humor is what draws fans in, the dynamic relationships between characters are what keep them coming.

Jim Halpert and Pam Beasley are one of the most iconic popular couples today for not only their dorky relatability but also their truly strong loving bond. While this relationship may be fictitious outside of these roles, passion and loyalty are as real as can be.

Here's how you can avoid a three-year engagement with the wrong guy and skip straight to working on achieving Jim/Pam relationship goals:

1. Make sure that your friendship is stronger than your romantic interest.

Although it took what seemed like forever to reach their first date, Jim admits that he had always liked Pam—even when circumstances kept him in his own "friendzone." Through it all, they both stepped back and remained respectful towards each others' unlucky relationships in order to preserve the friendship which they both valued more than their own romantic intentions. Their platonic bond serves as an essential underlying base to the overwhelming true love that comes to surround it later. Without having a strong connection on multiple levels, your attractions will be shallow and empty at the end of the day.

2. Don't be afraid to unleash your inner dork.

If spending late nights together doesn't feel like a fifth-grade slumber party, you're doing it wrong. One of the most memorable moments of the show was when a man Pam went on a date with years prior admitted that he had never called her back because he "thought she was dorky." Jim cuts to a camera interview where he is genuinely shocked and confused, as he couldn't imagine how this wouldn't be even more of a reason to call her. Opening up your truest fun inner self is what will bring out the same in your partner. Hiding yourself to keep a superficial image will only leave you with stiffness and insecurities.

3. Know how to swallow your pride to make your partner smile.

Pam and Jim may not have won the Halloween costume contest of season six, but they sure did win my heart. Dressed as Olive Oyl all day long, Pam was sorely disappointed in Jim for not playing the role of Popeye. He revealed later that he never enjoyed dressing up for Halloween, even as a child, but eventually ended the episode in full costume just to put a smile on Pam's face.

4. Support each other selflessly.

Jim encouraged Pam to follow her dream of graphic design and was genuinely happy when she was accepted to a college two hours away. While they both recognized an engagement was just beyond the horizon, they temporarily put aside their dreams for a future together to make room for Pam's dreams of self-improvement. Without growing as individuals, you will never be able to cultivate a successful long-term relationship. Everything is a give-and-take, and sometimes you have to be willing to give a lot more while keeping a smile on your face.

5. Don't expect perfection in nine seasons—these things take time.

Remember—take things at your own pace. Jim and Pam happened to be working in the right office at the right time. Life isn't always a fairy tale, so having expectations set by a fictitious TV series can only take you as far as you're willing to work for them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
