It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! It was a sad day when November 1st hit and Halloween was officially over, but that couldn't be said the same for Walt Disney World. Disney does it right. Like most of us, they go right into the Christmas spirit. November 1st hits, spooky season ends, and "All I Want for Christmas" is on repeat.
On October 31st, Halloween decorations draped over Disney and emerged guests into a mini Halloweentown. With pumpkins everywhere you looked and characters in costumes, it seemed almost impossible to think of any other holiday while you were enjoying the atmosphere. Workers, on the other hand, were stressing about what they would have to do later that night.
As the park closes down for the night, thousands of workers scatter around and start the process of taking down every single decoration in sight. They transform the park overnight into a winter wonderland almost forgetting that Halloween was just yesterday. Workers replant sections of gardens filling them with poinsettias, drape holly and wreaths over the lights, and set up every Christmas decoration Disney can offer in one night. Not a single Halloween decoration is to be seen in sight the following day.
Disney prepares different teams to work on each section and certain decorations in order to make the most of the one night they have to tear down and set up. By November 4th, the dream lights on the castle were set up containing over 200,000 lights and the countdown to Christmas officially began. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party started November 8th and goes until December 21st leaving the last few days before Christmas to the guests own liking.
Disney does not disappoint or settle. They know what guests love and they deliver to ensure everyone has the most magical time whether it be in a Halloweentown one night or a winter wonderland the next.
