And so our daring duo makes a comeback. If you’ve not yet read part one, click here. I was not alone in wanting to experience Disney princess magic through heads of cabbage. Many personally thanked me for my writing contribution, which confirmed that my mission was not over, for there still remained six more princesses dearly crafted by sage storytellers and six more cabbages lovingly harvested by caring cabbage-harvesters to be permanently united. To leave this series incomplete would be leaving a void in the universe that does not belong. Let’s keep the unapologetic vegetablitized-princess ball rolling.

Rapunzel

Like this cabbage, Rapunzel’s delicate down-to-earthiness is displayed in her character. While being a relatable protagonist, she carries qualities which are uniquely hers-- the naturally-occurring luxurious, multi-faceted hues in her hair and more notably, its exquisite length. She presents a mutual modesty with her own earthy greens, yet captivates all with her seemingly unending layers of marvelously flowing leaves. She’s the girl you’d see in high school and want to hate for her stunning beauty but can’t because she’s humble as hell. Some days you imagine what she’d be like without her leafy hair-- if she’d be anything at all. But more than anything, you truly want to protect her; there’s too much evil in this world for such a delicate angel. Rapunzel and this cabbage were made for each other. Not necessarily romantically (talk to me in 20 internet years), but out of need for soft loving creatures to stay together so they may help each other thrive and know their kind is not alone.

Princess Jamine

Take a moment to breathe in and out at this time. Before you is Princess Jasmine captured in cabbage form. Shared between them are textures which blend young beauty and aged maturity, a combination which rarely finds the proper avenue of expression. There is a core of free-spiritedness to be seen in both-- note the radiant shade of green and Jasmine’s inability to settle for anything less than she desires. Yet, there’s a shield of long-matured wisdom surrounding each, as seen in the darker, more wrinkly cabbage leaves and how our princess must wade through the structures of an old-fashioned society to reach her happiness. Cabbage and princess alike, they are both spiritually intertwined with the old and the new, in search of what they may call their own.

Pocahontas

Do not even attempt to slow this princess nor cabbage down. There’s an initial intimidation factor to each; this is that independent cabbage that everyone admires from afar, since-- let’s face it, she’s beautiful-- but boy does she look tough. There’s no façade happening there; she knows herself, and all factors considered, she probably knows you too. That’s a bit scary. What you end up learning though, is that she is the most loving, spiritually present cabbage you’ll ever meet. She is thoroughly in tune with the natural world, and with that, she sees the beauty in it all. She just at times doesn’t think anyone else can see it with her, which is where it becomes ever-so important to befriend her, so you and Pocahontas/this cabbage may experience the worldly beauties together in congruent peace.

I do hope this princess cabbage lineup may tie you over, for we aren’t through yet. Until next time, continue growing and never stop enchanting your world.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
