If you’re anything like me, you’ve always wondered which Disney couple you and your significant other are most like. What’s more romantic than representing everything that a Disney couple does? Which similarities do you possess? Who are you most like? Will you share a love like Ariel and Eric or a more complex love like Belle and Beast? These couples will always be a reminder that, no matter what, love truly does conquer all.
Which Disney couple are you and your significant other?
1. Belle and Beast, Beauty and the Beast.
Belle was a woman able to see the sweet and kind in Beast, and she was able to look past the coarse and unrefined, and all with the help of patience and time. Belle taught Beast how to love, causing him to change his attitude. This relationship was definitely unconditional, for better or worse.
2. Princess Jasmine and Aladdin, Aladdin.
A true rag to riches story. Two worlds collide. When Jasmine and Aladdin meet, she’s disguised. When the two meet again, Aladdin is in disguise. They then travel the world, on a magic carpet, and fall in love. Eventually, after being untrue to themselves, they learn they who the really are is more than enough.
3. Meg and Hercules, Hercules.
Meg was determined not to fall in love. But when a force as strong as Hercules walks into your life, there’s not much you can do. Meg betrayed Hercules, but I suppose that when you love a person, it’s not too look past their wrongdoing after they’ve proven they're in love.
4. Ariel and Prince Eric, The Little Mermaid.
Ariel knew that in order to become a human and to be with Eric, she’d have to give up family. She showed self-sacrifice. She was willing to give up so much, and that’s what true love is about. Even after discovering what Ariel truly is, Eric doesn’t care. He loves her for who she is - another factor or love.
5. Quasimodo and Madellaine, The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
This couple shares the same background. Madellaine and Quasimodo also share the thought they aren’t worthy of having each other. They help each other to see past the physical. Much like Belle and Beast, this couple is the greatest example of loving someone for who they are inside.
6. Pocahontas and John Smith, Pocahontas.
The best example of forbidden love. Pocahontas and John Smith meet under a waterfall. Now, that’s romantic. Only the beginning, however. It sometimes takes a grand gesture for a person to realize what’s in front of them.
7. Ellie and Carl, UP.
Carl and Ellie were kid friends that turned into sweethearts. They lived in the perfect house and lived the perfect life together – filled with so much adventure. Carl and Ellie are proof that love and the adventure we search far and wide for is sometimes right in our face. They prove that the biggest gestures can come in the simplest of actions if the love is truly there. Carl and Ellie shared a love that will never fade.
8. Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen, The Princess and the Frog.
Tiana and Naveen had to go through literal ups and downs to find their happily ever after, and it seemed to have been worth every bit of it. Their story sounds like any romantic comedy. They fight, learn they share common interests, impact each other for the better, and fall in love. Ya know, the usual. Of all Disney relationships, I’d say this one is the most believable (despite frogs turning into humans).
