As a girl, we're expected to literally cry over everything. We’re supposed to be obsessed with rom-com's and wear our hearts on our sleeves. We’re supposed to be out there searching for our one true love and when we like a guy we’re supposed to tell everyone we know that we’ve found the one. And when you do finally start to date someone you’re expected to write love quotes on all of your Instagram posts and let everyone you know, know they're the love of your freakin life. If the idea of literally doing any of that makes you uncomfortable and you can’t remember the last time you even cried over something, then keep reading because you are so not alone.
Girls who aren’t like us probably don't see how being unemotional can be such a bad thing, but here are some of the serious disadvantages.
1.When the guy you like has no idea you’re interested.
I’m into you! I’m just not going to go run and tell every single person in my res hall. I won’t text you all the time or send you super long sweet messages. If I’m talking to you I think that’s just showing enough interest on its own tbh.
2. When the guy you are actually dating thinks you don’t care.
Nope, I totally do. I just don’t need to send you paragraph long messages declaring my love for you. The thought of that actually makes me nauseous, sorry, not sorry.
3. Or when you are still single and your family thinks you’re literally going to die alone because you're so emotionless
I mean like maybe I will, but just because I’m not actively searching for the love of my life and blasting Taylor Swift songs doesn’t mean I don’t think about it. There’s nothing wrong with being selective and not falling in love with every cute guy that says hello to you.
4. When you’re actually not interested in a guy and they think you’re just playing hard to get.
Just because I come off as uninterested to everyone doesn’t mean I might actually be interested in you. I’m not pretending to not have feelings to play it cool.
5. You give the worst relationship advice.
If one of my friends comes to me for relationship/boy advice my go to answer is usually “Idk, just dump him.” Or “you’re better off without him” I’m sorry that I don’t get all warm and gooey on the inside guys. I wish I wanted to back a cake full of rainbows and all that other crap, but it's probably not going to happen.
