The Super Bowl rolls around each year, and only two types of fans are represented in it. So, what makes nearly the whole country tune in? Yeah, some would say football, but most would say the commercials. Each year, there are the ones that (embarrassingly) make you tear up in the middle of your Super Bowl party; there are the ones that make you actually LOL; and there are the ones that make you want to throw your shoe at the TV because they are so stupid (like the puppy monkey baby thing? Seriously? Come on). This year, it seemed that the really good ones were rather hard to find; so I've compiled a list of what I believe to be the best commercials this year whether it be for humorous, emotional, or thought provoking abilities.
1. Budweiser.
Though it doesn't compare to last year's puppy and Clydesdale horse commercial, it was thought provoking, and sent a very good message, and it also made me laugh a little.
2. T-Mobile.
This was one of the funniest and most clever commercials in that a notable celebrity mocked his own mistake from the past year. Anyone who knew about Steve Harvey's Miss Universe incident would start giggling when he exclaims, "Verizon got it wrong! Not me!"
3. Coca-Cola.
Anyone with a sibling may have shed a tear at this funny, but heartfelt commercial that displays the relationship between brothers while subtly advertising a popular product.
4. Taco Bell.
While this commercial isn't necessarily laugh-out-loud funny, it was interesting how it touched on all of the trends of the past year that our generation sees as big.
5. Heinz.
Wiener dogs dressed as wiener dogs. Puppies running through a meadow. This needs no further explanation.
6. Prius.
This ad told a story and kept us interested and entertained with humor and references to popular jokes made among Americans. It also advertised the product very well.
7. Coca-Cola.
This commercial also told a story, and because it used very well known characters, appealed to a very large audience.
8. Colgate.
This commercial was extremely persuasive with its use of mind-blowing statistics and the image of a child using the clean water someone is wasting while brushing his teeth. It is definitely a commercial that makes you think.
9. Mini Cooper.
Defying labels is an idea that is very prevalent in discussion among the country today. Mini Cooper tied that in with its own brand and concept and instilled a sense of pride in the product.
10. Hyundai.
This commercial used a classic concept and notable comedian to show what its product is capable of. It told a story and appealed to teenagers, as well as parents, in a humorous way which made it fun to watch.
