Hearing that song,
always remembering who it seems like it was sung about.
But then one day you’ll hear that song in the background of a new episode of your favorite tv show.
Suddenly the song has a new meaning.
Just wait until you find something with the song, it can wash away the memory of who was tied to it.
But get it? Tied. Past tense. You no longer have to see that person attached to a great song.
You’re free from the constant video like it’s a music video playing in your head the whole three minutes and twelve seconds it’s on.
You now have a new purpose for that song. Another good memory for a song you thought you would never get to listen to after that person is no longer your person.
Maybe it’s a metaphor or something for life. Make new memories at places where you had old ones. The new ones will replace the old one, to where it feels like it didn’t even happen.
Maybe a faint deja vu.
