Dear Donald Trump,
I'll admit it, I did not support you in this election. I hoped every day that you would not be elected as the president of the USA. Your comments against women are cringe worthy. "You're disgusting," you said to a female lawyer during a 2011 court case when she asked for a medical break to pump breast milk for her baby. You have consistently proven to me that you sort people into stereotypical groups because of your racist view points. I don't use the term "racist" lightly, because I do believe that many people are too quick to label others with this term, but you truly are, and there isn't any getting around it."You're living in poverty. Your schools are no good. You have no jobs. 58% of your youth is unemployed. What the hell do you have to lose?" you say to African Americans. You condoned the beating of a Latino homeless man, saying that the men were just "passionate" supporters of you. I didn't realize that beating someone was okay if it's because you are "passionate." And you say Mexicans are rapists and all they do is bring drugs over? Last time I checked, most of America has a drug problem on its' own, and you have been accused multiple times of sexual assault. So don't try to place all of the blame immigrants. Whether they are legal or not, they don't deserve the negative label you are putting on them. Besides, what about the legal Mexican immigrants who come over to make a great life in America for their families because of the love they have for them?

Let's not forget the ever so famous "grab them by the pussy" quote. I truly hope if I have a daughter some day, she doesn't think it is ever acceptable for a man to say or do that. And I will never get over the time you mocked a reporter who was disabled. As someone who wants to help those with disabilities some day, I find it absolutely repulsive that you could be so cruel and ignorant. Whether or not you meant it, your whole campaign was based on bigotry and hate.
People are scared of you. Whether or not it is rightfully--(which I believe it is...)--that really doesn't matter either way. The point is, people are scared. Because of you and the people you pandered to throughout your campaign. Your campaign was built on a foundation of hate, leading people all over the country who support you to engage in hate crimes. Muslims have reported being harassed, beaten, and robbed; the hotline for transgender people tripled in it's normal call volume the night you were elected; racial slurs have been spewed across the nation both verbally and in the form of graffiti (Maple Grove high school in MI had graffiti which included statements such as, "go back to Africa, make America great again") (Note: I am not at all saying that all Trump supporters are like this. I am simply stating the fact that all of these things have happened in the name of Trump since he was elected.)
All of that is before we even touch on your politics...so talking more politically based, you claim you will bring back jobs to America, and improve trade. This is one of the big arguments your supporters use. You wish to do this by ending the US China Trade Reform and putting a 35% tax on goods coming into the US produced by American companies that have moved overseas. I'm not sure if you know this, because, after all, you have zero political experience, but raising the tariffs on goods coming into American will raise the price of not only those goods, but other domestic prices as well. It will hurt America's economic growth and put the country into a downward spiral towards recession. Higher prices=higher inflation=rising unemployment. It seems as though most of your platform points are misleading and contradicting at best.
I have heard the argument that personal affect differs from political affect. This is true. But I cannot say that I want a president like you, who has said these things and demonstrated such narcissism throughout the years. Once POC, women, LGBTQ individuals, AND people of certain religions all became terrified for their future, you should have immediately rethought everything. I don't think that you are fit to be president. After everything you have said and done, it is very difficult for me to believe that you will do our country any good. People have told me that you care about America and the people in it, but I have not seen that demonstrated. Actions speak louder than words.
I hope so much that you prove me wrong. I will not sit here and wish the worst upon you. When you go low, I go high. Starting in January of 2017, you will be the president of the United States of America, and I cannot change that. But that is a scary thought to many Americans. So I'm begging you... Please, Donald Trump, prove me wrong. Prove us wrong, and do good for our country. I may not be a Trump supporter, but I am a supporter of America, and I want us, as a nation, to thrive.
Prove me wrong and do some good.
