From the day she was born, you remember looking into her eyes. From that very same day, you remember how she wrapped her hand around your finger. You remember smiling back, thinking how cute she was. As you look back at these moments, you smile and say, "Yes, that's my little sister." As she has grown-up now, you think "Wow, that's my little sister." You think your little sister is a young lady, attracting all the guys and is super smart. You think how grateful you are to have her. As she grows up, you have to remind her how much you love her, how much you are going to protect her. At the same time, you must remember all those times you shared with each other as kids and grow from them.
Do you remember playing dress-up?

And I still play dress-up with you.
Lots of little girls like to pretend they are princesses. I like to pretend we are princesses trying on clothing in our very large wardrobes at the department stores. I love our shopping trips when we go down to Forever 21 just to try on clothing. The employees hate us because they have to put the clothing back on the rack afterward, but I love us.
Do you remember wearing the exact same outfit?
Do you remember wearing matching dresses with your sister? You got to admit, we were adorable in our matching dresses.
At the time, we could have been twins.
Even though we still look a lot a like, you are such a unique girl. I love how you are artsy, and I love to write. If we put both of our talents together, we have a beautiful children's book. What makes sisters unique are the characteristics that differ them from one another.
Do you remember pretending we were superheroes?
On the days we weren't princesses, we were superheroes. Supergirls was the title we called each other. We fought crimes and thought we could fly.
Even though we aren't superheroes, I still have your back.
I will fight any villain for you. Anyone who is mean to you, any friend who wrongs you or tells you that you aren't smart or pretty will not want to mess with me.
And what about playing Barbies, do you remember that?
Do you remember fighting over which Barbie got to marry Ken? Or fighting over what doll got to wear the long, princess dress?
Even then, we were thinking about growing up.

Eighteen years later, you aren't that baby who first wrapped her hand around my finger; you are my beautiful sister. You are all grown-up. And yes, we fought a lot as kids, but we had a ton of fun. That's what sisters do, anyways. To all the sisters out there, protect each other and love each other endlessly. It is a blessing you have one another.
