To my lovely editor,
I am sorry my work is always turned in later in the day than it's actual due date. I'm sorry that I can't get my work in early sometimes, but here are four of the top reasons why my work is usually late.
As you may know my work usually get in late on Fridays. For this I'm extremely sorry, but there are the things that keep happening to me, that distract me from getting it in on time.
1. Buzzfeed
I go to Youtube to turn on music. I'm about to turn it on and there's a Buzzfeed video. It's one I haven't seen, so you know I have to watch it. I do, then think that was a nice little break, but then there's another one that's linked to it. I haven't seen that one either so I continue down the dark stormy path of watching every single Buzzfeed video for the millionth time. BuzzFeed is my life, it was my inspiration for joining the Odyssey and it will continue to be. One of these days I will have to write a Buzzfeed themed article, but until that day here's number two.
2. Performing
I put on music to start writing. Being a theatre kid it’s usually a Musical. All of a sudden I have to perform the whole Musical. I can't just perform the one song. I have to perform the whole thing. This has to happen every time I start to work.
3. Ideas
Half the time I have no idea what to write about. I know you said we can write about whatever we want to. That's true, but the problem is there are so many things to write about. How do we choose just one thing to write about? Not only that, how do we make it as perfect as we want? The answer is simple we can't.
4. Stress
Stress it just a evil little thing that sits in the back of your mind, just festering there. Until it piles up, and kills you. A short time ago, when I had just started working for the Odyssey, we had double the work load, what I wanted to produce was just too big for me to just crank out. I had three essays that week and four tests. I wanted to cry and I did, I did many times. Many hours were filled with the tears of my unwritten articles, but I got it out as I will always get my articles out even if I turn them in slightly late. I always get things done.
Thank you for being so gracious to accept it, not at noon, but on Friday at some point. You're awesome dear editor! Thank you for being my editor and having other friends to help you edit papers, because I am terrible and I might submit something that sounds stupid. So thank you for editing my papers and keeping me sounding smart! You are great, Peace!!
