Ever since I was little girl, I have been a huge Beyonce fan. I feel more connected to Beyonce than any other celebrity, partially because I am from Houston. I have watched her career evolve as I grew up. Recently, Beyonce slayed/shut down the Internet with her visual album, "Lemonade." I would like to thank Queen Bey for being an amazing role model.
First off, thank you for always repping H-Town
As we all know Beyonce is from Houston, Texas, also known as H-Town. Not only is she from Houston, but she is from the historic Third Ward. Her Houston and Louisiana roots are always apparent in her songs.
Thank you for being a natural hair enthusiast
Beyonce has received a plethora of negative reactions from the public regarding, her daughter, Blue Ivy's hair. Despite the public's attitude towards Blue rocking her natural hair, Beyonce has continued to allow Blue to be the most adorable little naturalista. She even put society in check in her video "Formation" by stating that she likes her "baby's hair with baby hair and afros."
Thank you for being unapologetically black
For those who didn't know, Beyonce is black! In her video "Formation" and her 2016 Super Bowl halftime show performance, she paid homage to her African American culture. Beyonce and husband Jay Z are major supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement. They are known to have funded the bail money for the movement's arrested protesters, as well as Trayvon Martin's funeral.
Thank you for keeping your faith
There have always been rumors regarding Beyonce's religious beliefs. In her most recent works of art she has been very vocal about her belief in God. Throughout her visual album, "Lemonade," you see how much she relies on her faith to be the amazing woman that we all know.
Thank you for being a feminist
Since her Destiny's Child days, Beyonce has created music that uplifts and empowers women to be strong and independent. In her album "Beyonce," she features an excerpt of a TEDx talk from Nigerian feminist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, in "Flawless." She has publicized her feminist beliefs and volunteers with several organizations that promote the empowerment of women, such as Chime For Change. Chime For Change is a platform designed to empower women and girls through education, health and justice. Beyonce serves as co-founder, along with Salma Hayek Pinault.
Lastly, thank you for teaching me how to make lemonade!

When life gives you lemons...make lemonade! This saying was the inspiration behind Beyonce's visual album, "Lemonade." In this album, Beyonce expresses the range of emotions she went through while dealing with infidelity and coming to peace with the issues she experienced with her father. Thank you, Beyonce, for being so relatable, transparent and inspiring!
