Alas, the time has come; Dead week is upon us and finals week is fast approaching. The meaning of "dead" week is within its name. If you're not "dying" for dead week, then more power to you! Good luck my friends, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
The beginning of dead week is sort of like a subtle reminder that you should probably hit the books and start to study for all of your exams... Or it just serves as an excuse to go out since this week is a test free zone!!
Of course, we are a generation of procrastinators and we would rather do anything else but crack open that study guide.
You convince yourself that you simply cannot start studying until your workspace is "prepped", so you start to clean your room instead... (funny how your room is the most organized and functional during finals week..)
Even though tests are supposed to be off limits this week, now seems to be the perfect time for teachers to assign the due date for those lovely group projects and papers that are worth about 75 percent of your grade. So while you're thinking...
Your teachers are like..and...
Once you finally finish up those large assignments, you realize you only have a very limited amount of time to read your ENTIRE biology book.... it's possible... right?
It seems VERY possible until you get to chapter two and realize that this book never ends! Why do they make these textbooks so big? Why hasn't someone adopted the bullet point system?
By the time the middle of the week comes around, you eventually convince yourself that you need a break! Time to go out! It's perfectly okay because you've gotten a lot of work done and you totally deserve it. After all, this IS the last week that you will be able to go out with your friends before summer. College memories > College GPA right....?
Aaaaannnddd we're back to reality.... why do we have class this week again?
When your parents call to ask you how all your studying has been going, your response is something like this...
So by now, you have REALLY run out of time to fully prepare for finals so it's time to cram or slam.
The momentum is great... until you hit the wall of procrastination again and your brain just all of a sudden stops absorbing anything and everything.
Time is up. It's exam time and sometimes giving yourself a motivational pep talk is the only way to succeed. It is what it is. Whatever happens, happens.
Of course you get the test and all of the questions seem to be on the section of the book you decided to skip over.... surprises in an exam are never fun!
You pull yourself together and make some educated guesses... (there's no way you could get ALL of these wrong).
Finally, the exam is over!! And you are a free agent for the summer! (unless you decided to take summer classes)
