Some girls prefer to keep up with their manicures and tan all while wearing designer clothes they bought on a luscious vacation to the Bahamas. Others prefer to throw up their hair, pull on some old jeans and are off to help their dad with the latest project in the garage. Don’t get me wrong, keeping up with manicures and a tan sounds great, but who really has the time to for that when you’re just going to get dirt under your nails anyways? If you think dating a tomboy would be less maintenance, you might want to think again. Here are a few insights of how to keep up with your tomboy and how to keep that smile on her face:
When it comes to fixing things:
Your tomboy girlfriend will want to fix it on her own, just as her daddy showed her. Don’t intervene unless she specifically asks for your help! You probably know this by now, but she’s pretty darn independent!
Just like men, she takes pride in her finances.
Let her buy dinner once in a while! She gets the same satisfaction for paying as you do, and that sense of taking care of her significant other.
When she has something she wants to achieve...
...She is one strong willed woman! You can bet your pennies that she can achieve whatever her heart desires by her own determination.
Let her geek out and talk about cars or sports with you.
It might seem like she’s showing off, but in reality she just wants someone to purposely butt heads with, or fantasize about her favorite car or Super Bowl vacation.
She needs space.
No seriously, walk away, it’s nothing personal. She can handle whatever it is on her own.
You’re all muddy and greasy?
That’s OK because she probably is too.
When she has something on her mind...
Buddy, you better prepare yourself because she has no filter.
If you’re thinking about ordering pizza, don’t hesitate.
She'll turn on the game and pig out with you while you both contemplate whether or not if the call on the field was crap.
If you’re trying to find the “perfect date”:
Your tomboy wouldn’t mind taking a cruise out to the races, going fishing or having a picnic by the lake. She’s not that hard to please when it comes to romantic acts. But guys, just because she's a tomboy doesn’t mean she doesn’t still like being treated like a woman. Hold that door open for her, pull out her chair at dinner, kiss her on the cheek here and there. You’ll soon realize that sometimes even the most driven tomboys will have moments of weakness and she will need you. The most beautiful thing about dating a tomboy is that once you’re able to figure her out, with all her little quirks and flaws, you’ll start to admire them immensely. Don’t be frightened or intimidated, but it takes a special type of man who can put up with the girl who always played with the boys and wasn’t afraid to get dirty. So if you find yourself with a girl who loves football, fixing her own car and who spends way too much time outside, hang on to her and love her forever. I can guarantee you that whatever you put in, she will give you even more love back.
