If you love reading Odyssey articles on Facebook, you've probably seen them. They normally appear on articles that showcase a woman who is in a bathing suit, has some part of herself exposed (not that there is anything wrong with it, if that is comfortable with her) or revolving around sexual topics. They most likely never actually read the article, their eyes are just stuck to her body as if she is a piece of meat.
Even when other people call them out by telling them "this isn't a porn chatline" these men pretty much disregard it. This is not good behavior or even behavior that should be tolerated. Often asking for a number to "have a good time."
People will argue that she deserves it because she put her body out there - I could not disagree more.
If she feels confident and comfortable presenting herself in that manner, so be it, let her live her life. For people to comment unnecessary and often creepy things towards her is not. Many of these men seem to range anywhere from their early 20s to being old enough to be my grandpa. Some even have pictures of their young daughters in their profile pictures.
Now, don't paint me as someone who hates men or believes all men are evil. I don't. Majority of men do not behave this way, it is just a small population that feel comfortable behind a screen. And yes, women can behave this way toward pictures of men, but that is not my focus here. I am purely focusing on the unnecessary comments some men post on these articles, especially when they think they are specifically talking to the person in the picture (normally the cover photos are just found online).

I am not sure if they even realize that these comments are public. I would be embarrassed if I found my dad commenting "yeah baby nice ass" on some Odyssey article. That comment will always be with the poster, their name is attached to it. One screenshot of someone and it's in the internet world forever. I opted to hide these men's names and pictures, but they can still be easily found by just scrolling through the Odyssey's FaceBook.
They are part of the problem and this problem is not just occurring on Odyssey alone. It happens pretty much all over. There nothing creepier than getting a Facebook message asking to make yogurt out of your vaginal bacteria from a random person. It's time to do something if you haven't been doing anything.
