Just thought I'd share a little blast from the past, written sophomore year of high school:

Up and down and all around

Emotions fly back and forth.

I'm caught in a vortex with no way out,

Just waiting for you to let me in or at least hear me out.

Hocus pocus, my focus just goes

MIA, haywire when I see your smiling face.

Why did I get myself in this crazy kind of love?

Flawless, perfect, and never ill-mannered

I wonder what's going on inside your head.

If only it could be so easy

To read you like a book and find out what's going on.

Wondering, wandering, I think my heart is floundering.

Flip-flop, somersault whenever you're around.

Maybe I could get used to this crazy kind of love.

Smiling brown eyes mask a deeper soul, a quieter side,

That some will probably never get to see.

But I know how you act, it's different with me.

I wish the mixed signals would stop

Because I'm seeing so many things at once.

Extra nervous, but happy, and finally a perfect fit,

I kind of like this crazy kind of love.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
