Country music is such a hit-or-miss genre of music. With country, you either adore it and can be seen "Rolling your windows down and cruisin'" virtually every day or you would much rather get ran over by a pick up truck than indulge in this musical masterpiece. Regardless of which side of your preference there are many reasons country music isn't just for "tan-legged Juliets" and "redneck Romeos".

1. Lyrics

As opposed to popular genres such as pop and rap at the moment with their meaningless repetitive verses that just don't "work, work, work, work, work", country features meaningful storylines and catchy tunes that will make you want to head to the nearest honky tonk.

2. Attractive People

Don't get me wrong, there is an infinite amount of beautiful singers roaming the hip-hop music stage, but country features a wide variety of country girls with rock in' legs and sexy, pick-up truck driving, facial hair wearing, Cowboys. (Like have you seen Luke Bryan)

3. Positive Role Models

There are bad people roaming everywhere, but 99% of the time you won't find country folks with a criminal record of any sort. As a result country singers are positive role models to aspire to be like for children and just about everyone. Plus who doesn't love songs that promote women, rather than bashing them!

4. Emotions

Maybe half of you hate the feels, but everyone has feelings and country music causing a variety of emotions. Whether your sad over a breakup, you want to "dig your keys in to the side of his souped up four wheel drive", or you just need inspiration to "follow your arrow" country music appeals to every emotion.

5. Family Friendly

No curse words, meaning that the whole family can jam to some K frog in the minivan on the way to school. Plus stage coach can be a family event!

6. Relatable

As stated prior every song tells a story. This means, every song is relatable, with clearly stated story lines, and varying subjects. You could hear anything from a Disney character, to a truck, to a party, to cutting down a tree, all in one album!

7. Feel-Good Vibe

No matter how terrible awful your mood is, country music is "chicken noodle soup for the soul". Are you still crying over the death of fictional Derek Shepard? No problem, listening to these catchy, line-dance worthy songs, could lift up any mood.

8. American Pride

Who doesn't love a good old "American country love song". Or any American song for that matter. Country music has American pride written all over it...

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
