It is probably time a student came out with an article detailing The Cottages since they have been on everyone's lips since school started.

Massive house parties, partying in the streets, and even a shooting near The Cottages are a few things to cross off the bucket list since The Cottages opened.  Every Sunday several news stations trickle down to The Cottages to put their very own spin on what events occurred from Thursday- Saturday.  The Cottages have already made a profound impact on Albuquerque and the UNM community. People are starting to take real concern into what type of atmosphere this new establishment is promoting.

Whether you like them or not The Cottages have already made a lasting impression on all of us, most likely a bigger impression than Lobo Village made when they first opened. These first two weekends were open season for anyone that made their way to The Cottages, this is something totally new to college life in Albuquerque and something that no one here has ever seen before. We have all heard the great reviews that The Cottages were given in the news (LOL) and we heard several students versions of what they thought about The Cottages from "Disneyland for students", to "Spring Break forever lol" and so on. The fact that everyone is sort of stunned about what has happened at The Cottages is the sole reason things have got out of hand because even the people who work for them are still kind of astonished at the events that took place are real life.  Take this past Saturday for instance, a house party with 30-40 people is quickly shut down, but a massive rager with over 100 people at the pool, beer pong, and a DJ that played for 10 hours (shoutout D-Tor) is perfectly acceptable.  So in order to combat this situation they plan to restrict the limitations that residents have even more.

Consistency is all residents are asking for because yes, some of these parties are on the residents that live at The Cottages, but getting fined for having 700 people outside your house seems a little out of the residents control.  You can keep making up new rules every weekend to combat certain situations, but until some sort of level-headed communication is created between the residents and management then The Cottages will still be local news bound every weekend.  I am not doubting that residents are at fault for most of these incidents but there are many things out of our control that is solely on management, like how easy it is for people to access the premises that no one knows who they are.  We all had our fun these past two weekends, but the fact of the matter is some people are ready to take a break from The Cottages who do not live there and those who do are looking for some clarification from a rather ghostly management team.  Not everyone is going to get it the right the first time we just hope some progress is eventually made.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
