7 Cool Apps To Have Fun With And Help You With Your Day-To-Day Life

In today's day and age, new apps are popping up left and right. Which ones are worthwhile? Here's a guide to some apps which are worth having and why.

1. LinkedIn

Let's start off professionally. You are a college student and thinking about jobs after you graduate, right? This is a great place to start. Create a profile, fill out your skills and work experience and network! You can connect with your friends, people you admire and with companies you aspire to work for.

2. VSCO

I have had people compliment my photography many times. What's my secret? Well, first of all it's more like "psuedophotography": I see something I like, I have an iPhone 6 for good quality and I edit using VSCO... ta-da!

3. Google Calendar

Organization seems to be key in college. From taking classes, joining clubs, assignments due on a weekly basis, going to that internship and still having a social life, you probably need to have a schedule going on. Google Calendar is great because it will keep your classes in your schedule without you having to input them over and over again, allows you to create multiple types of events, is color coded and the best part-- it is all on your phone! Easy, convenient and incredibly useful!

4. Waze

This is like GPS, only better. Yes, you can choose different voices for it to talk to you in. You can send your route to anyone else who has Waze so that they know when and where you will be. Waze navigates so that you get to where you are going in the quickest way. You also know how many other Waze users are with you on the road. You get notified if there is construction ahead, a stopped car or even police. You can also submit traffic or police stops as well as report accidents and upload pictures of the accident. You also get points for participating!

5. Venmo

Remember that time you forgot your credit card after you already ordered your food and felt terrible for a friend picking up the check? Live guilt free! Venmo lets people send and request money to others. How convenient! Just download the app and never get caught in a sticky situation again.

6. Twitter

This site is just plain fun. Through hashtags and suggested followers, things can go viral quickly. You can also follow your favorite YouTubers, celebrities and companies. Come up with clever tweets, retweet what you relate to and have fun! Tweet a famous person... they might just reply!

7. Instagram

Ahhh Instagram. An app to share photos, keep record of memories and see what others are doing all over the world. This app has helped me inspire people, to let my friends know I love and care for them, as well as helping aid my love for aesthetics (with help from VSCO!) This app is cool to check during breaks and for getting the word out there, whether you are hosting a fundraiser or planning an event.

So there we have it. All the apps you will benefit from and enjoy immensely. Now go out there, take cool photos, edit them, inspire people and let the world know just how cool and creative you are!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
