Looking for something to do this weekend in good ole C-bus now that all the 4th of July commotion is over? Well, look no further.
This coming weekend will be the 15th Annual Ohio Wine Festival put on by Columbus's North Market. Whether you're a wine lover or not, this festival is something you definitely don't want to miss.
The dates are as follows:
Friday, July 8: 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday, July 9: Noon to 9 p.m.
Sunday, July 10: Noon to 5 p.m.
Unless you wanna be really fancy and purchase the VIP Weekend Pass, which will get you special early entry on Friday, July 8 starting at 6 p.m. -- which would give you an entire extra hour of wine, wow! My advice? Stick to the single day pass.
A single day admissions ticket, $25, may seem a little steep, especially if you're not a huge wino. But in reality, $5 of that goes toward a ticket that gets you food inside the North Market -- Jeni's, anyone? And not only that, you'll get 10 wine tasting tickets and a souvenir wine glass, too. Who doesn't like that? If you're like me and love collecting wine glasses, extra ones are only $2 a piece. And if 10 tickets just doesn't cut it for you, additional taste tickets to satisfy your wine cravings are available for .50 cents each as well.
You can purchase your tickets here.
The Ohio Wine Festival will host wineries from all across Ohio, will feature their own outdoor Farmers' Market, provide various food samplings, and present a plethora of entertainment throughout the weekend.
This wine festival makes for the perfect date night or get together with a bunch of friends. Hell, it's the ultimate Sunday Funday if you ask me. Who doesn't wanna get a little day drunk, especially off of Ohio's finest wine?
If none of this has sold you already, how about this -- wine has a variety of benefits for you, too. Not only does it work wonders to get you magically drunk, red wine has been proven to lower cholesterol and increase heart health.
This isn't me telling you to go chug every wine sample in sight -- like everything, the poison is in the dose. Moderation is key, and especially for this weekend's wine fest. Last year's festival proved to be hot hot hot, and with the way temperatures have been there's no doubt this year's will follow suit.
So pace yourself, stay hydrated, and enjoy the beautiful buzz that is wine.
