By no means did I mention all of the college majors out there in the world, but I tried to hit as many as I could. If you haven't watched the show corresponding to your major, you should. There just might be a little bit of inspiration in there.
Forensic Science - "CSI"
This one was pretty self-explanatory. The people who major in forensic science are smart, attentive to detail, and love trying to solve the crimes in TV shows before the characters do.
Public Relations - "Gossip Girl"
You should watch this show because GG is one of the most popular bloggers out there. wWatch to see what worked and what didn't and, basically, you should study how each person reacts differently to the "blasts." PR is more than blogging, but you enjoy watching the impact of that social media form.
Music - "One Tree Hill"
This show is full of guest stars, recording sessions, and recording studios and it's really interesting to see how "unrealistically" these characters make it big in the music field.
Criminology - "Law and Order"
In a similar vein to "CSI," criminology students enjoy watching this show because they like picking up the clues and solving the problems before the characters do. They are brilliant, much like the characters on this show.
Theatre - "Friends"
Now, this one may not be as obvious as the others. You have friends in every major, but I picked this show for this major because of the amount of comedy that is present and the number of improvised lines through the series. Also, the characters seem to share each other. I mean, they've all kissed each other and they're all still friends. When you're an actor, you sometimes have to perform romantic scenes with people and, when it's over, it's not awkward. It's a job. The story of Joey as an actor helps as well.
Pre-Med - "Grey's Anatomy"
Now, I know that it's not the most medically accurate show on TV, but the sheer number of episodes (10 seasons and counting) is a lot. Med students watch this because it gives them hope that they can have hot and steamy relationships and a real life along with their soon-to-be profession.
Folklore - "Vampire Diaries"
This show has all kinds of folklore and folklife. It's full of witches, werewolves, and, of course, creepy old family heirlooms with magic powers. It's interesting to see a world where all of the things that you study (sometimes) are brought to life.
Psychology - "Bates Motel"
What's better than learning about psychology from the psycho himself? This show shows the most in-depth character development that I've seen in a while. It's intriguing to watch as a psychology major, as they often watch for the triggers and the warnings only sharpen their skills.
Education - "Boy Meets World"
Let's be honest, when you were young, you wished that you had Mr. Feeney as your teacher. He's influential and really caused a huge impact on the lives of those kids. You wanted to do that. You want to change somebody's life, even if the path isn't always the straightest. The show was an inspiration for you.
Nursing - "Scrubs"
Carla and her nurse colleagues showed us how important nurses are to the medical field. This show inspires nursing majors because it shows how influential they are to patients. The hospital couldn't run without their assistance and dedication.
History - "Drunk History"
This show is hilarious. You enjoy watching it and catching all of the errors and the things that are in the wrong order. You take pride in knowing history better than a drunk 40-year-old.
Business - "Shark Tank"
This show tells you what to do and what not to do when pitching an idea. Also, you get an up-close look at what the consumers want. Seeing other people's dreams come true makes you only want to work harder.
