Boys will be boys, ehh?

College Boys

College is a weird time. You either come knowing absolutely no one or you come with quite a few friends. You may even end up at the same university as you significant other; and if you are one of them cherish that. You think boys were bad in high school? College is worse. Frat boys walking around like they own the place, innocent boys that aren’t so innocent, and boys who are flat out there to get with as many girls as possible. In fact, all those characteristics could describe a single boy on a college campus. But let me tell you, 97% of these boys are no good. And yet somehow they fool you into thinking otherwise. Keep them as friends because yes, they are more than fun to have around! So I’m here to tell you about these college boys to watch out for because I can almost guarantee it will end in heartache.

1. The Frat Boys

These are the number one boys who will steal your heart. They come to the sorority houses to serenade you during dinner, I mean who doesn’t want a boy that can sing? They are also the biggest sweet talkers. You go to any frat party and look around, they are all sweet talking a girl trying to get her to stay for the night. Frat boys are not all bad, I have met some good ones but for the most part, you are helping their reputation. As soon as you leave, the brothers are discussing you from top to bottom. And after that night, you are most likely known as a “booty call.” But let me tell you, these boys make the best friends.

2. The “Innocent Boys”

They are not innocent. These are the boys that are hard to catch a read on. When they text you or hang out with you, they are stand-offish. They don’t know what they want so they make you fall for them quick. They say everything you want to hear. They come off as this perfect guy that all of us girls have dreamed of. But let me tell you, they have many more secrets than you think. WHEN SOMEONE SAYS THEY AREN’T WHO YOU THINK THEY ARE, BELIEVE THEM. These boys are so messed up in their own heads that they cannot even begin to care how you feel or care what we are thinking in our heads. These boys are insecure about themselves so in return they make you insecure about yourself.

3. The Boy that wants anything with a beating heart

We all know at least one, or ten. These boys are well known on any college campus. They are strictly there for the girls. The only advice I have on them is STAY AWAY. They are no good, they are there to make you feel special for one night.

But by no means am I here to offend any boy. I'm here for the girls. I don't want to see anyones heart broken. Boys are great, but sometimes they are better friends. Keep your head up and your heart strong. And if you are lucky enough to find a boy who doesn't fall into these categories, keep them.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
