There's nothing like going out to the ballpark and cheering on your school's team. If the weather is nice you can't beat a day at the ballpark. The MLB is great to cheer for throughout the year, but there is something different about watching college baseball. You get to cheer on the guys you see walk around campus every day. You have a five minute commute to the field instead of hours of travel. It's called America's pastime for a reason. Many of us have grown up around this sport, and grew up playing it. Even though it may not be the most eventful sport to watch it is still worth the watch. Whereas sports such as football and hockey that are go, go, go baseball is a sport that is all about the experience at the game. It is relaxing and a great thing to do with friends on the weekend.
Baseball is all about tradition. There a lot of different traditions such as peanuts, the seventh inning stretch, and the famous singing of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." It's a family event that you can always find little kids begging for the players to toss them a foul ball. It's all about the tradition that brings the baseball lovers of the world together.
We no longer have to wait for the season to come. Our college teams have played their away games and now they are here to represent their schools on their home field. The fresh grass is cut, the peanuts are being served, and the fans are on their way out to the field. The tradition lives on and us baseball lovers can't wait to get out to the ballpark.
In the words of the famous baseball movie, 'The Field of Dreams',"People will come, people will most definitely come."
