16 Things That Clumsy People Know All Too Well

Help, I've fallen and I can't get up.

So, fairly recently I fell and ended up with a severe concussion and could not attend my classes for a week. With all of the restrictions placed on me, I was essentially Rapunzel locked in a tower for a week with nothing to do and nowhere to go, except at the end of my time being locked up, there was no Flynn Ryder to help me escape, take me on an adventure and sweep me off of my feet.

This didn't come as a shock to literally anyone I know, as I have always been insanely clumsy. I basically have the coordination of a drunk camel, and that's on a good day. I am aware that I am not the only one that is this insanely clumsy. So, if you're anything like me in the coordination department, this list is going to speak directly to your poor clumsy soul.

1. Sports are a no go.

You hear basketball. I hear falling over my own feet, being hit in the face with the ball, and probably being elbowed in the face. No thanks.

2. Anything slippery will cause an embarrassing cartoon-ish fall.

I slip on the tiniest of wet spots and I will flail my arms the entire way down to the ground.

3. Mysterious bruises

I wake up with at least three new bruises a week.

4. Dancing? No thank you.

I look as awkward as I feel and if I try too hard I will probably trip over myself or one of my limbs will slap me or another person. Not fun.

5. Showers are dangerous.

I literally concussed myself while singing and dancing in the shower. It's a death trap. A death trap I tell you!

6. Roller skating is basically an accident waiting to happen.

You're just putting an already unstable set of legs on wheels. This will not end well for anyone involved. This also goes for biking, roller blades, or ice skating as well.

7. Coordinated people make you envious.

I literally feel envious and slightly enraged when I see people looking flawless while roller skating or playing sports. Why can't I do that and not look like Screech from Saved By The Bell?

8. Tripping on nothing. All of the time.

I trip on air at least 6 times a day. In the most inconvenient of times and I almost always hit the ground.

9. Never carrying anything fragile.

No one lets me do that because they are all afraid I will trip and drop it.

10. A large gust of wind tests your balance.

I have actually been knocked over by wind. WIND.

11. "How did that even happen?" when you injure yourself.

I literally don't even know.

12. Hilariously embarrassing injury stories.

Guys, I fell in the shower singing too hard to Dear Evan Hansen's "Waving Through A Window". It doesn't get much more embarrassing.

13. High heels are basically asking to break your ankles.

I look like a newborn baby deer in heels higher than two inches.

14. Jokingly receiving knee pads as gifts.

I have also been given links to life alert sets on Amazon.

15. Distracted walking is a little risky sometimes.

Getting distracted while walking on stairs is a literal death wish y'all. Texting and walking? Even worse.

16. Falling off of everything.

I can be sitting still on a chair and all of the sudden I will twitch or just randomly fall over with no explanation as to why and it's embarrassing.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
