Clemson Is...

The big day is almost here. The happiest day for students everywhere -- or at least in Clemson: move-in day. There's a certain feeling you get after being apart of the Clemson family for a year, or even a semester. Clemson has built it's reputation upon it's family atmosphere and friendly faces -- and for good reason. Only here at Clemson will you be nervous to move in as well down right ecstatic. Nervous, if you and your roommate will get along, but excited to be part of the Clemson family you have heard so much about. There are many reasons to bleed orange or pay $10 a year, but to me Clemson is where I feel invincible.

Clemson is walking to other dorms for help with your homework. (Thank you engineering dorms).

Clemson is realizing that your first semester schedule sucks and learning how to make the system work for you.

Clemson is seeing everybody you have ever met on library bridge and saying hey.

Clemson is thinking you saw your friend on library bridge.

Clemson is walking miles uphill to your car, only to turn around and walk uphill again.

Clemson is having a guy dressed in a purple monkey suit run in and out of your exam.

Clemson is wearing orange every friday.

Clemson is realizing your closet centers around orange and purple.

Clemson is playing soccer on Bowman, or volleyball on Y Beach.

Clemson is oversized T-shirts that cover the shorts you swear you have on.

Clemson is where you feel comfortable walking back from Cooper Library after 2 a.m.

Clemson is living your dream as a sideline reporter for your favorite team in Memorial Stadium.

Clemson is waking up before 8 AM on a Saturday because the football game is at noon.

Clemson is where your parents meet your new friends and their parents on game day.

Clemson is sitting on Thomas Clemson's lap in front of Tillman Hall.

Clemson is not being able to wait to receive your class ring.

Clemson is opportunity.

Clemson is starting a creative inquiry class on the mechanics of soccer, or the economics of crime and punishment in South Carolina.

Clemson is only traveling abroad in the spring so you don't have to miss football season.

Clemson is going to Spain and seeing your professors on the flight back with their sons.

Clemson is having a girls' night (or bros' night) downtown.

Clemson is finding out you have the same on-campus job your mom had, 30 years later.

Clemson is about finding your place in the world and having a family to support you every step of the way.

Clemson is growing up attending the football games, getting married, having kids, and returning to the football games with a family of your own.

Clemson is adding a Clemson paw car decal and feeling like you are officially apart of something bigger.

Clemson is home. Welcome to the family.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
