When you go off to college, there is an overabundance of clubs looking for new members. It seems as though the list is never-ending. Well, I'm here to tell you to look no further. If you have a love for serving and a desire to belong to a club, Circle K International is the club for you. Circle K International (CKI or Circle K for short) is a club that is all about serving others and helping people (and animals).

Before I explain why Circle K is the best, let me just start off by saying that Circle K has people from all walks of life and you never feel like you have any expectations to live up to because almost all of us are still trying to find our way in life. You'll never feel alone when you join Circle K.

Now, let's get started. To start out, I only have one word for you: dogs. That's right. Big dogs, small dogs, and any in between. Troy University's Circle K is partnered with Troy Animal Rescue Project (or TARP for short). We do many events with them, including adoption events and walking dogs in our annual homecoming parade. Some members of Troy's Circle K will go out almost every weekend and help.

A lot of people that join Circle K join because they were members of Key Club in high school. Key Club and Circle K are the high school and collegiate service organizations under Kiwanis, our parent organization. As a member of Key Club in high school, I was excited to join Circle K and be able to serve others!

The big reason people join Circle K is their love for serving. As being "the world's largest student-led service organization," there is never a week that isn't filled with service while school is in session. There is always an abundance of service projects and activities available at your fingertips. If you prefer to do solo service work, we've got you covered! Many members will do solo service on top of going to club functions and get their hours up. There is not a minimum number of hours required to be in Circle K, so don't feel pressured to do all the service projects!

Lastly, Circle K is like a family. We have each other's backs. Our love for service brings us together. Circle K has a variety of people from all over, so you'll always be able to find a friend. I have made many friends from Circle K and two close friends that I hang out with. Long story short, if you're looking for a family, Circle K is the place for that.

If you are interested in Circle K and want to know more about us and our parent organization, here is the website! Now go out there and serve!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
