It's the most wonderful time of the year, and it's finally here! Everyone knows the coming of the Christmas season brings some absolute must-do's. After all, these opportunities are only available and/or socially acceptable for less than a month. You have to take advantage of this! Here's a definitive list of everything you should do during this merry little Christmas time.
Make Christmas cookies.
Everyone knows these are the best.
Play Dirty Santa.
I don't care how close we are: if I want your present, I will steal it.
Wear tacky Christmas sweaters.
Tacky is the new black.
Visit Santa.
You can pretend you're taking the kids you babysit all you want, but we all know you want to see Kris Kringle too.
Watch every Christmas movie ever created.
"Elf,""How the Grinch Stole Christmas," "Christmas Vacation," "Santa Clause is Coming to Town," "A Christmas Story," and we haven't even scratched the surface.
Look at Christmas lights.
These houses are getting lit.
Elf on the Shelf.
And he's watching to give a full report to Santa!
Decorate the Christmas tree.
And panic when some of the lights don't work. It happens every year.
Attend a Christmas Party (or 12).
Christmas shopping.
After all, it's better to give than to receive.
Hang up stockings.
And get excited because Christmas morning it will be filled to the brim with goodies.
Listen to Christmas music – all the time.
This is all I will be listening to until the 25th.
Family Christmas card.
Always awkward, yet always a necessity.
Eat Christmas candy.
One of the four major elf food groups.
Read "Twas the Night Before Christmas."
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
Leave cookies and milk for Santa.
And sneak some for yourself in the process.
Open a present on Christmas Eve.
This is always a very exciting moment.
Make a birthday cake for Jesus.
It is His birthday, after all.
Waking up your parents on Christmas morning (yes, still).
"Get up! Get up! Time to open presents!"
