Spotify is probably the best app in the world (music wise) because you can listen to music at your demand (unless you're on mobile and don't have premium). This free app has so many great playlists such as Today's Top Hits, Your Favorite Coffeehouse, and (one of my all time favorites) Indie Chillout. Indie Chillout includes fantastic artists such as Vance Joy, Mumford and Sons, Florence + the Machine, Echosmith, and many more. Because the playlist is updated constantly , you can rest easy knowing that you're listening to the chillest, newest indie music.
To prove I know what I'm talking about, here are some songs included in the playlist:
1. "L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N" by Noah and the Whale
We all love songs that spell out words! For example, Bingo! B.I.N.G.O, BINGO was his NAME-O! L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N is just great song to sing along to ,and the song title is true- life does indeed go on. So it's a win-win, you get a catchy song and a great meaning behind it.
Fact: Noah and the Whale was an English indie band but the band split in mid 2015.
2. Tell Her You Love Her by Echosmith
This is a catchy and sweet song with chill remedy, and it's just like their other song Bright (which is also on the Indie Chillout playlist!).
Fact: Echosmith is an American indie pop band who formed in 2009, and all the members siblings!
3. Fallingforyou by The 1975
The 1975 is a really awesome band. Their song Chocolate is super catchy, and it's really upbeat. Fallingforyou, however, is much more relaxed song, giving you a soft, feel-good vibe.
Fact: The 1975 are a British rock band who are on tour right now, so you can go check out a show in NYC December 4th!
4. Riptide by Vance Joy
Riptide is such a solid summer song. I can guarantee you'll get nostalgia just thinking about your summer memories as you jam out to this upbeat song.
Fact: Vance Joy, also known as James Keogh, is an Australian singer-songwriter. He'll be on tour next year so if you want to go to one of his concerts go check out his website.
5. Riptide by Vance Joy (covered by MisterWives)
Why is Riptide listed twice? It's not just because it's that good of a song, but it's covered by MisterWives! Their version of the song is pretty cool and I highly recommend it.
Fact: MisterWives is an American indie pop band, and they're based in New York City.
As you can see there is diverse selection of indie bands, as some are American, British and even Australian!
These are just a couple of featured songs. The whole playlist has 80 songs, and has a duration of five hours! I definitely recommend checking it out. You never know what band you might discover and add to your personal playlist.
