I know everyone is tired of hearing the political antics between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, but everything happening is actually very important. This is our future, we cannot sit back and watch our country fall apart because we are "too tired of politics and politicians". Nothing will change unless you change it. Our generation can change everything, but not by standing idle and watching the world pass us by.
The simple right of voting is so important. In so many other places, voices of citizens go unnoticed and unappreciated, but not here. Many countries have a voting system, but often times people stand waiting for ballots that will never come. They are silenced by their government. When you see the injustice happening you should take the right to vote as a privilege and exercise your rights! We live in a country where everyone's vote is considered equal; race, age, gender, and socioeconomic status does not change your vote.
There is really no excuse to not go and cast your vote. There are so many services that help and assist with voting. Even if you are living in a different country, but are a U.S. citizen, you can still vote. You are also allowed to get an absentee ballot. Voting is made so simple no one should have an excuse to not vote.
Everyone deserves to have their opinion heard! Do not let age intimidate you. If you are 18, strut your legal abilities and vote. Do not let adults tell you you are too uneducated to cast a vote. However, you should make an attempt to know each candidate's platform in order to choose someone who truly represents who you are. You are smart, and you are important! I have faith everyone has the goodness of their country in mind when voting, which is why educating yourself is so important.
Politics can be everyone's "thing". Do not let the bad publicity scare you out of learning more about politics. As hard as it is to believe, there are some good people running for offices at all levels who care. They care about you, your community, and your country. Give them the opportunity to show you and prove to you why they are the best choice. It all can get overwhelming, but it is very important to get all the information you can.
Your vote really does matter. I know everyone thinks "what can my vote do?", but if enough people think that way all their votes really do hurt their cause. Everyone has an opinion, even if I do not agree that does not mean someone else feels the same way. We all go through different life experiences that changes the way we view things. My life is not the same as yours, but every life and every vote is extremely important.
It is hard to express the magnitude of voting. A simple article does not do it justice. This November, get up, get out, and go vote. Your voice means a lot more than you think it does.
