Everyone has been down this path more than twice and has witnessed how horrifying cancer can be. It steals their loved ones away while causing them to suffer slowly. There has been no other disease that has been as bad as cancer.
Cancer makes everyone’s life a living hell, one way or another. It causes a family to see their loved one who they admired as a strong, powerful figure become the opposite of that. When they slowly watch cancer consume their family member’s energy, they become disgusted inside.
A family starts to feel like there is nothing else they can do to stop it. They feel helpless and it’s terrible when they want to help someone who has always been there for them, but they can’t.
According to the World Health Organization, cancer is a group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells. There are over 100 types of cancer. And any part of the body can be affected.
Back in 2012, the American Cancer Society estimated that there were approximately 13.7 million Americans with a history of cancer alive. Although heart disease is the first common cause of death, cancer is the second most common cause of death in the United States.
There have been many deaths, as well as survivors. However, sometimes it depends on how old the person is and whether or not their body can handle fighting off the strength of this disease. On the other hand, deaths can still vary from children and young adults, too.
The American Cancer Society, said, “Childhood cancers account for 1 percent of all new cancer diagnoses. In 2013, an estimated 11,630 childhood cancer cases are expected to occur among children 14 years and younger. Although uncommon, cancer is the second leading cause of death in children.”
Cancer is a really powerful disease and the effects it has on people physically are excruciating. There have been way too many tragedies that have come from cancer in the past couple decades. It has scarred many families in the process, too.
Cancer is the destroyer of souls. It destroys a human being from the outside, just as well as from the inside. Cancer has broken many hearts.
Maybe one day there will be a cure and maybe someone will help destroy cancer and its evil intentions. This disease’s reign has got to end eventually.
