Life From A Busy Person's Perspective

Life From A Busy Person's Perspective

When you have a crazy schedule, sometimes the people you care about the most fall through the cracks. It’s not intentional, but sometimes life just gets crazy.

Hi you,

I care about you.

You are important to me. You are the most important people in my life. I enjoy spending time with you and I want to be with you.

I promise you are a priority but the things I do are important to me.

I know it can be frustrating when I say I am busy but it is because I am busy. I’m not blowing you off. The things I do are a priority to me; they are a significant part of my life, just like you. They are not as important to me as you are, they can’t take the place of you, but they are important to me.

We might not see each other every day.

My schedule sometimes doesn’t allow seeing you every day. Sometimes I need time alone to get things done; sometimes I don’t have time in my schedule to see you every night, face to face. However, when I do see you, I promise that you will have my undivided attention. What matters to me is how we spend time together.

Sometimes I need some time to unwind and relax after a long day. I deal with long days and very little downtime. While I love what I do, it can be exhausting. In those cases, I sometimes
need to turn on Netflix and relax, or just have some me time.

While you are important to me, there are others who are important to me as well. I might need a girls night (my friends are like family to me), I might need to spend a night with my guys, and when I go home I might want to spend time with my family. Every person that is in my life has there own significant impact on my life, and I need them just like I need you.

Please don’t ask me to change.

I understand that sometimes I do too much. I don’t say no enough sometimes. But this is who I am. This is what I do. Please don’t ask me to drastically alter my life. All that I do really does have a purpose in my life.

Being with me can’t be easy, but please be patient with me.

I know it can be stressful and frustrating being with me sometimes but please be patient with me, I really do care about you and I need you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
