The new burger joint, BurgerFi, is not the usual fast-food average burger the other burger places host in Tuscaloosa. When you walk through the doors of BurgerFi, located in The Shoppes at Legacy Park, you will instantly get the modern, high tech feel BurgerFi is striving for.
Walking up the register there is big “Roll Tide” sign that welcomes you as you order your all-natural burger and fresh cut fries combo. The restaurant is filled with Alabama specific photos, from a picture of the stands at Bryant-Denny Stadium to a picture of the beautiful green quad. Along with the photos are multiple 50+ inch flat screen TVs for the customer’s pleasure.
To accompany the high-tech feel the business is going for, the customer is given a tracker to put in the middle of the designated part of the table so the servers can find you in the busy restaurant. A first-time goer to the restaurant would naturally assume that the tracker would buzz once their food is ready, but BurgerFi is making the dining experience easier for the customer, and the employees at the same time.
Before even getting the tracker you have to order. The menu is filled with many options between burgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, accompanied with sides of either fries, onion rings, or both if wanted! The sides also have options to add toppings from Parmesan cheese, or chili and cheese.
The drink choices are just as plentiful as the food options. You can relax and have a couple of beers or glasses of wine. Or if you’re feeling something sweeter a customer can go for a milkshake, or a root beer float. If you’re not feeling that adventurous, they have the regular 127 different drink options supplied by two silver Coca Cola Freestyle machines.
The employees are all very welcoming and sweet. My first trip to the BurgerFi in Ttown was for a friend’s birthday and the employees brought out a scoop of their custard and every employee, whether they were at the register or on the floor, sang Happy Birthday to my friend.
BurgerFi is 100 percent going to be my new go-to restaurant on Friday nights, after a long hard week. If you’re looking for a new place to try in town, BurgerFi should be your next destination.
