No one can say they haven’t met a bully in their life. Many have been effected by encounters with bullies both negatively and positively. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a bully as someone who is ‘habitually cruel to others who are weaker’. I am here to say you may have viewed me as weaker but I am not weak, in fact I am strong and resilient, partly in thanks to you and my will power to be a better person. So thank you former bullies for the cruel words or malicious actions that have made me the tough cookie that I am now.
Here’s a few ways that I benefited from your actions:
I am a strong person all-around
No longer do insults or dirty looks haunt my mind. My mind is a place for positive thoughts and you do not get to romp my thoughts with your cutting words. I attract those into my life with only kind hearts and positive thoughts about others and without the adversity I faced because of you I would not have this mind set.
Only I can determine my self-worth
No longer do peoples criticisms and judgements effect the way I view myself and conduct my life. I am going to behave however I want to and anyone that has something negative to say about that can walk upon a mile of Legos barefoot.
You’ve given me confidence
I now have confidence to stand tall when encountering harsh words and I can also stand up for those who may be put down like I was. Thank you for indirectly helping the world.
I regret that I let you bring me down with your negative vibes, ruin my confidence, wasted my valuable time questioning myself and why I wasn’t good enough to be treated with respect, and finally I’m sorry that you felt the need to say or do whatever it was to hurt someone else. I can only hope that you have or will change and make amends for causing someone else pain. Finally I forgive you, I relinquish the power that you once held over me. I only wish you happiness and love in the future and thank you for unknowingly bestowing wisdom and strength upon me. I will go forth in the future with grace and confront bullies with confidence and maturity.
