Yeah, you drive each other crazy and are an entertaining comedy act for anyone who tries to hang out with you two, but at the end of the day, he’s one of your favorite people and you’d be lost without him. Your brother is your best friend for more reasons than you can count, but here’s a start.
1. He doesn’t mind your awful singing voice (much) and will sing right along with you!
Hello, jam sessions. Road trips are really just excuses to have extended karaoke sessions. “Sweet Home Alabama” has never sounded so good. Although, you have very defined rules for when either of you are allowed to sing along with the radio in the car. There are limits, after all.
2. He knows you better than almost anyone.
You two have spent a lot of time together, and he knows all of your hopes and dreams. Plus, he’s had his whole life to learn all of your quirks and your silly obsessions. As a result, he gives the best, most thoughtful presents. On rare occasions, he’ll even enter the headache-inducing wonderland that is Bath & Body Works because he knows it’s your favorite.
3. He’s a great listener.
Late night life talks are the best. You have to schedule phone calls with each other because catching up on all the important life events takes an excessive amount of time. Plus, if any team is going to solve the world’s problems, it’s you two.
4. He’s always up for impromptu adventures.
Why not take the wrong turn and go explore? Why not make a spur of the moment trip to get shaved ice on a hot summer day? Why not play on that playground and act like little kids again? He’s always up for adventure and can turn the littlest tasks into crazy escapades.
5. He’ll pose for all those goofy selfies because you know where he lives.
He may never understand the need to take ridiculous pictures together in the backseat during road trips, but he’ll oblige anyway because he’s the best (and probably just wants you to stop nagging him for pictures already). He has mastered the duck face. It’s impressive, really.
6. He will always be there for you.
Through everything you face in life - growing up, dance recitals, moving, relationships, school, you name it - he’s always got your back. Not that he really has a choice in the matter because he's stuck with you, but he goes out of his way to be the friend you need in every circumstance. He’s also hugely protective of you and probably has very specific ideas about who’s good enough to date you.
