I think we can all agree that we fall in love with at least one character whenever we start a new TV series. Brooke Davis has been my number one favorite for over a year now and I'd also like to point out that I've watched OTH five times, so you could say I'm kind of an expert on Brooke at this point.
1. Although she wasn't the best student in high school, she followed her dreams and started her own fashion empire.
A lot of people say that school isn't for everyone, and Brooke Davis believed just that. While working at Suburban Filth, Brooke had designed some clothing pieces and they were up for grabs. Brooke wasn't worried one bit about her designs being snatched from her hands because she knew she was going to flourish. She later on founded Clothes Over Bros, which she firmly believed was going to turn into something big.
2. If you had her as a best friend, you were blessed.
Brooke Davis is the best friend that everyone needs. No matter the day or time, she was always there if you needed her. Over the series, we watch her heart grow bigger and bigger, which should be a huge inspiration to all that people can change for the better and that you should always be the best friend that people always look to when they're in danger.
3. She knew her self-worth.
Brooke is one of those girls that knows exactly what she wants or needs and will not settle for anything less than just that. She knows when to drop a boy, how she should be treated, how to present herself in the highest way possible, etc. Brooke Davis, especially season 9 Brooke, is the perfect example of how a woman should be.
4. She stands up for what she believes in.
No matter the situation, she is never afraid to speak her mind. Opinions are the best thing a person can express because it shows their true colors and Brooke's were simply beautiful in every way. It's either her way or the highway. Some may think that this is a bad thing, but who honestly wants a girl who's boring and shy? Exactly.
5. Her parents weren't always around and that made her stronger.
Because her parents were divorced and MIA majority of her life, it caused her to learn how to grow into a better version of herself. Some people would have suffered, but she took advantage to flourish from everything wrong that her parents had done.
6. She found the love of her life by completely being herself.
Don't we all aspire to fall in love with our best friend? Well, Brooke Davis did just that. By being her complete self, Julian fell head over heels in love with her. I mean, who could blame him? Anyways, Brooke shows us that even if you have a little extra baggage, nothing beats being yourself and marrying your best friend.
7. She grew up to be an amazing mother and aunt to Jamie.
From saving Jamie's life to the birth of her twins, we all knew Brooke loved children. Even though she went through hell and back dealing with the news that she would never be able to have her own children, she still seemed to make it happen and she couldn't be more excited. I personally would love to have a mom who wants the best for me and knows how to have fun all at the same time.
8. She knew that life and people are not perfect, and that was okay with her.
Because of her MIA parents and rough social life, she realized that not everyone is going to be perfect. Labels mean nothing if you do not know the person or what they are going through. She became best friends with the nerdiest guy at Tree Hill, Mouth (Marvin), which eventually grew to be one of our favorite friendships on the show. She saw something special behind his big ears and love for sports talk shows and decided to not judge a book by it's cover from that day forth (unless you're Rachel). Brooke overcame her "dumb and preppy cheerleader" stereotype from high school and became the woman every girl strives to be.
9. ALL HAIL BROOKE PENELOPE DAVIS!
Overall, Brooke Davis is the perfect role model for all the girls who struggle with self-worth while in school. Not only is she drop-dead gorgeous, but she also teaches us that everyone deserves a second chance in life, even if you've made a million terrible decisions. The role speaks for itself, but I'm going to point out one of my favorite quotes.
"You know when I was a freshman I wasn't a very good person... And over the last four years I've been forced to grow up. I stopped letting boys define me, and I started believing in myself and in my potential... and somewhere along the way, the lost little party girl became the girl on the wall of honor. I know what I did was wrong, I know, but the girl I was when I came here, I'm not so sure she would have. And isn't that the point of high school? I mean isn't that what you've been trying to teach us for the last four years?"
After that, I think we can all agree that Brooke is definitely Queen B around here.
