The Broke Girl's Guide To This Season's Fashion Trends

As the leaves change color, the time has come again to update our wardrobes with the latest and greatest fall accessories and garments. Undoubtedly, the only trouble is not all of us have a few hundred dollars to spare on upscale/high-end clothing items, especially when there are dozens of trends that we want to experiment with. Thankfully, a new wave of affordable goods are available and within reach for those of us who are "ballin' on a budget" and barely getting by as clueless, broke college students (truth, HA!) As a Fashion major or realistically speaking, a girl, shopping always makes us emotionally, lustfully, and aesthetically pleased.

Ahead, find five of the most popular fall fashion trends for 2015—all within affordable price ranges. And yes, you guessed it; these trends are available in department retailers close to you!

1. High-Waisted Flare Jeans

If you thought the whole '70s trend was long gone, well think again, because this season is all about the flared jeans making a strong comeback. Just like Luann de Lesseps from the "Real Housewives of New York City" once said, "Don't be like, all uncool," because sporting them like a champ will be deemed necessary this fall!

New York & Company pants; available at just $69.95 or BUY 1 GET 1 $10

2. Ruana

This piece is particularly great because of its versatility! Wear it draped, pinned, belted, or naturally hung loose. It also makes a great statement piece, not to mention it'll keep you warm during those arctic-like temperatures (Midwest is best, right?!?)

Find this look at Kohl's; available for only $32.99

3. Over-the-Knee- Boots

Also known as "thigh highs," this season is all about bringing in suede. Pair these babies up with shorts, skirts, or even that skimpy dress you're hesitant about. After all, throwing on a trench coat makes it completely fall appropriate.

Rounded/Pointed toed boots can be found at; ASOS, Macy's, H&M - $65

4. Denim Dress

Denim is an all-year-round alternative for just about any occasion. Denim dresses are flattering for almost any body type. (ALL YOU SEE IS LEGS, LEGS, LEGS!) Dress them up or dress them down any way you'd like!

Dress available at Forever 21, H&M, Topshop for under $40

5. Joggers

Who said you can't look fashionable while feeling absolutely comfy? Probably the HOTTEST trend right now, is what we like to call "athleisure." Joggers go along with jackets, sweaters, and tunics. Pair them up with some trainers and you are the coolest chick in town.

Joggers available at Zara, H&M, Forever 21 for $25 & under

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
