5 Thoughts That You Have When Planning Your Wedding When You're A Procrastinator

Being a procrastinator and a Bride has it's challenges.

Planning a wedding can be stressful and we all have a way of dealing with the stress of wedding planning. We learn a lot about the people we choose to help and it's a perfect way to see someone's true colors. It stinks when you have to deal with the politics of planning a wedding. I'm so excited about my upcoming wedding to my best friend. These are thoughts that I've thought through the process and I'm sure other brides have felt the same.

1. Wouldn't it be better to elope?

I have family members that eloped instead of having a big wedding. My dream was to have an elopement with my family and my Significant Other's family, but I also know that my mom and my groom wanted a wedding. Remember you have to make yourself happy and your fiance happy. What makes me happy is seeing everyone smile, so I bought that white dress and having people who matter surround us with happiness and peace.

2. Why are all of these things necessary?

Looking through wedding catalogs may bring excitement and happiness to a lot of brides, and I was excited to look through all of the catalogs. I was excited to start buying decor and other little things. Now that I'm a month away, I don't want to look at another bride magazine or wedding decor books. I look back at all the things I was going to buy closer to the wedding and asking myself why are they necessary?

3. Why is everyone asking me so many questions?

I happen to have a lot of people who like to jump the gun and ask me a lot of questions. I have no problem answering questions, but when we don't have an answer to a question or they go to the wrong person for an answer that's where confusion and problems start. You'll start to have people ask you questions that you don't know the answers to or they'll go to well meaning people but it still doesn't help. Communication is something you should learn early on because it will help you run your wedding smoothly.

4. Who needs to be on the guest list and who doesn't?

Ideally we should be allowed to invite anyone we wanted, but sometimes politics and distance can get in the way of adding people to the list. One person you're close to doesn't like your family or vice versa , but it shouldn't effect anything. It's your wedding and you should be allowed to invite anyone. Sometimes the budget or the venue doesn't allow the amount of people you want to invite. This is when you come up with a creative idea to include those who are important to you that didn't make the list.

5. Do the colors of the bridesmaids need to match the groomsmen?

This was a weird question that I questioned myself until I finally said that the bridesmaids and groomsmen are wearing similar colors. In the end, your wedding day is your wedding day and if your wedding party truly loves and trusts you, they will wear what you tell them. If you want them to wear something weird, then I would make it budget friendly just to be nice.

There will be a lot of thoughts running through your head during the planning and crunch time of your wedding. Just know that there is plenty of us who've thought the same thoughts. As people, we should offer advice or help when a bride or groom is planning their wedding if they need it. Procrastinators naturally cause a lot more stress on those who are trying to help plan, but it's you and they know you'll get to it....eventually. Wedding planning is hard and will take up a lot of your time if you allow it. Procrastinating can be a natural thing to do for some of us, but in the end, everyone knows that the weddings will end up being planned.

The Spooky History Of Halloween

The traditions of Halloween have come a long way from their ancient origins. Originating around 2,000 years ago, a tradition known as "All Hollows' Eve" began at the end of the harvest season. The ancient Celts would dress in costumes and light a bonfire to ward off evil spirits. Back then, with the cold brought death, and it was a way they believed to keep them safe.

Passport To Paris

I’ve done my fair share of trekking around the world; however, I forgot a few important things as I embarked on my journey to move to Paris, France, for a couple months. I feel blessed to be in this place known for its good food, beautiful architecture, historical artifacts, and lights. I feel nervous to be in this place, but I have already learned a lot that I will hopefully continue to expound on as I live my daily life here.

Why I Don't Have An iPhone

Why I Don't Have An iPhone

I am 21 years old, and I do not have a smartphone. While my peers have gone through countless phones, upgrading the moment Apple or Samsung releases a new model, I have only owned three phones. I’ve used my current phone, a Samsung Intensity III (a slide phone with a keyboard), for about two years.

High School Came So Easy to Me. Why Is College So Hard?

For the student who used to get straight A's in high school without even trying

In high school, I felt like I didn’t need to study to get good grades. But in reality, I tried so hard in high school. I never skipped class, I never took a zero on an assignment and I paid attention in class. So yeah, when it came test time, I barely needed to study.

This is why college is a slap in the face to a large amount of straight A-high-school students. In high school a person has complete structure and responsibility. Yes, college students have this too, but it is more lenient.
