He may still give you butterflies. The very idea of him may make your heart skip a beat for both bad and good reasons. The thought of him may still make you cry and also want to drink a bottle of wine, but that's an ex boyfriend for you. Even though breakups may be the worst thing on the planet, they don't define you and you may even learn something from it to improve your future relationships.

He isn't a bad person.

Sure, he may have done a bad thing, may have said some things he didn't mean and maybe caused you pain you didn't know was possible, but that doesn't make him evil. This makes him a normal human being.

You don't have to hate him.

Just because there is a stereotype to hating your ex doesn't mean YOU have to hate him. Life is too short to be filled with anger. Focus that energy on something positive.

A breakup doesn't determine your self-worth.

The breakup may have cause you to curl in a ball and ask yourself "why" over and over again. In reality you'll never really know why. Don't blame yourself and don't convince yourself something is wrong with you. Nothing is wrong with you and never forget that.

It isn't the end of the world.

Just because your relationship ended it doesn't mean everything else ended. Life goes on. There are plenty of things that can still bring a smile to your face and make you happy.

It's not the end in general.

Maybe now isn't the right time for the two of you. When you're 20 years old you have yet to experience anything big in life yet. There's plenty of time to find yourself and maybe eventually find each other again. But, that doesn't mean stay hung up on him. Go out and have fun!

Don't listen to your friends.

Everyone is going to have their opinion on your breakup, especially your friends. They saw the worst parts of the relationship; all the hurtful things he may have said and they were the ones there to pick you back up. That being said the words "I hate him" and "never talk to him again" will be said. Don't let what they say change how you feel in that moment.

LISTEN to your friends.

They know how you are, so DO listen to them when you're about to make a bad decision. Your girlfriends are forever, they're always looking out for your best interest. Your best friends will do anything to spare you being hurt over and over again.

Don't get stuck in a funk.

You're allowed to be heartbroken and sad. You're allowed time to lay in bed, watch romantic comedies and cry. BUT you're not allowed to let this go on for too long. You need to get up, force yourself to feel good and realize that you don't need someone else to make you feel happy.

Always love yourself first.

Never forget what you're worth, how you should be treated and how you should be respected. Sometimes you do need to be selfish and put yourself first. Life goes on and time does make everything better.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
