We all have times in our life where we feel like nothing can go right. Our grades suck, we have no support, at some point we ask, "what's the point?". Sometimes we feel alone and honestly it's the worst feeling in the world. Feeling hopeless is something nobody should have to go through, and you don't have to. It's okay to not be okay.
In everyone's life, there will be a moment of defeat. Some of us are in college or starting a new job, it's an overwhelming time for all of us. For some reason we are always expected to be on top of things and always have our best foot forward, why do we do that to ourselves? The constant pressure of always having to do your best makes any person want to break. Why are we always pressuring everyone including ourselves to be who we aren't? In todays society we are so focused on being independent that we forget that sometimes we really do need support. What happened to talking to people about how we feel? Since when has feeling any kind of emotion become a weakness? Todays world has made it feel so wrong to show any type of emotion other than happiness and determination. Everyone is trying to hide how they really feel in order to look tough, but honestly I think that makes you weak. It's okay to admit you need help. Asking for mental, emotional, or physical help is not a sign of weakness but a sign of maturity.
Admitting you aren't okay is one of the bravest things you can do in today's society. Being able to admit that you actually need help is so rare because we don't want to be judged. People would rather be struggling all alone rather than reach out to a friend, but you don't need to do that! You can do so many things to make your life so much better. Talk to a friend, counselor, therapist, even your parents, just reach out to somebody.
The lesson here is that nobody is perfect. You will never find someone who completely has their life all put together, everyone has faults. There are things that you can do to make your life as close to perfect as it can get though. Be brave and be open to talk to people. Forget about the social norms of what being "normal" is because there is no normal. You are who you are. Just remember that is okay to not be okay.
