Change. Some may fear, I chose to crave. I have taught myself to love it. Learned that my anxiety lessens when I consume it. A necessity I see it, for all.
We should all seek for a place where our body finds complete comfort. A place where the devil's arms have been lifted from our brains and we know longer feel the weight of our nerves. A place where everything is changing and our world is shifting and for then, just for a few minutes, we may have the pleasure of feeling invisible. Where at last we are able to feel that satisfaction of making ourselves happy. How light it feels when there is no one consuming your heart, your brain, your body, and then you will finally have the chance to feel comfortable.
But we fall to a level where we chose to feel comfortable in everyone's definition of comfortable. We must choose to release ourselves through what we don't know. Staying put in footsteps that we have walked over and over again, the thoughts and realities that have seemed to be true for as long as we can remember seem arrogant, worthless, immature. We must be eager to grow. We need to reach a potential where we are too set on the next challenge to even stop to think about what we thought we once knew. We must be questioning the now rather than trying to prove the past. We need to feel comfortable being uncomfortable.
We need to expect more from the people around us. We need to push them to levels we thought they couldn't reach for us to then reach the ideas, the thoughts, and the pleasures that just yesterday felt impossible. Surrounding ourselves with people who allow us to be challenged allows us to truly learn, to truly grow. We must take the step away from surrounding ourselves with those who make us feel comfortable, those who make us feel secure, and safe because although these people might be great, more often than not ,they are holding us back from what our brains desire. We need to focus on our brain's need for change to be stimulated. We need change to have any true impulse towards any action, thought, or perfection of happiness.
It all seems like madness. Throwing away a life that seems so good because change is a necessity in having a life worth living. We are pursuing this American dream while so many of us fall short on the mere fact that we follow the steps of society too closely. We choose to stay stuck in the footsteps that were made for us, rather than venturing out to see what will make us happy. Society is holding us all back from becoming the human being we know we all ought to be. Step up, and step out of this notion of what the people have told you. It’s a chance of a lifetime; make change.
